Chapter 70: A Place to Live

My back and head are both in excruciating pain. A lady's voice said, "Young man." With her wooden stick, she began to lightly strike my arms. "Hello there, young man. Get up! "While poking my body with her stick, she said. When I opened my eyes, I was taken aback to discover that it was the land lady. "What happened to your wife? We've already discussed the rules in this apartment, and we've agreed that the room you rent cannot be this shamble. You didn't even do the dishes. Look at how filthy every area of this room is, and then ask yourself why your eyes are so red. Did you cry the night before? ", she enquired. I get to my feet and begin cleaning up the entire room.

I didn't realize it was already morning and the sun was already high in the sky. I'm sure I'm up late at night without realizing it. The land lady is still in my room, and I'm beginning to wonder why she's there. "Could you tell me why you've come to my room?" I inquired. She sat her hands on her waist and looked at me with a scowl on her face. "Of course, I'm here to collect your rent payment! Did you forget about your pledge to pay the whole amount this month? "she stated I check my virtual wallet and see that there isn't enough money to pay her. Right now, my life is a complete disaster. What am I supposed to do now? She had no intention of allowing me to stay for another month.

"To tell you the truth, I don't have enough money right now to pay you the full sum. Permit me to extend my stay for another month. Please enable me to stay because I spent so much money celebrating my daughter's remaining days. Please allow me and give me another chance because I have nowhere else to go. I swear I'll put in the effort to pay for everything "I begged at the land lady. She entered my room, opened my closet, and retrieved my belongings. "What are you up to?" I inquired. She continues to throw my belongings and clothes outside the apartment, and she continues to throw all of my belongings outside. "Enough is enough! We've already talked, and you've agreed to pay the rent! I'm not going to let you stay here any longer! Get out there and find a place to stay!" she said.

Katsumi POV

Takahashi is expected to arrive. I advised him to come here because there are still jobs for him to do. We've been waiting for an hour and are currently seated in these seats sipping our tea. "Should we go check on Takahashi right now?" I made a suggestion. Bara is standing in front of me, sipping her favorite tea flavor. "So, if that's your decision, let's go meet him, but I hope we're not interrupting him or violating his privacy in the process. You already know he's going through a difficult moment in his life, so let's respect his privacy as well "Bara remarked. Bara is correct; we must respect his privacy, and it's possible that I'm only implementing the authority and power that I granted Takahashi to see him.

"It is his obligation to be here right now, no matter what he is going through. It's not as if I'm being inconsiderate of his feelings. Work is work, and his personal issues should not be interfering with it. He has a responsibility because I gave him that power, and he must utilize it wisely "I stated. It's ironic that I'm punishing Takahashi for refusing to obey me by giving him power that he didn't ask for. Now all I have to do is make him do something he doesn't want to do. I'm probably too selfish to have done all of this only to spend a month with him. I should apologize to him and let him take his time for the time being, but I can't help but want to go to his place and meet him.

"So, what exactly are you waiting for? Let's go to Takahashi's because you seem genuinely concerned and troubled by him, which is unusual "Bara remarked. To examine my appearance, I rapidly conjure up a mirror in my hand. "Do I have an odd appearance? Isn't it evident that I'm worried?" I inquired. That's quite embarrassing, and I hope no one witnessed my outbursts. "Well, you do," Bara replied, "and this is the first time I've seen you act like this." I need to concentrate and maintain a serious demeanor. People may lose respect for me if I continue to act feminine. I take a deep breath and return my mirror to my virtual inventory. "So, tell me the truth Katsumi. Do you enjoy Takahashi's company?" Bara inquired.

Why did she pose the question to me? How can I concentrate now if she keeps saying things that will make it impossible for me to concentrate? "Enough with the questioning, Bara. I said, "There's no reason for me to answer those questions, and I'm sure you already know the answer." I get up and fix my clothes and hair. "I'm just curious as to how you'll respond to those questions. I know you have high expectations of men therefore I know your responses, and the chances that you will like that man are none" Bara said.

I may appear to have very high standards for guys, but that does not rule out the possibility that I might like Takahashi. He may not be my type, but he is the only person that treats me the way I want to be treated. Why am I reacting this way toward a man who recently lost his wife and best friend? "Let's go to Takahashi's apartment and see if he's there," I said. We have no idea where his residence is, but I suppose the people in the area are familiar with him because he is well-known for fighting the king and nearly dying. His identity as having a hacker's face also makes his name well-known throughout the area. However, the issue has been addressed, and he has already stated that he is not a hacker, but rather a sinner.

We asked the folks in the area if they knew where he lived, and luckily there was someone who knew where he was right now and could point us in the proper direction. We went to the location mentioned by the man. We passed by an apartment, and I remembered hearing that he had previously shared an apartment with his wife. We come to a halt in front of the apartment's gate, anticipating him to at least look at us after hearing the sound of Bara's vehicle. We had a glimpse of him in an unexpected way. When the door opens, there appears a lady carrying a man's clothes and belongings, and behind her comes Takahashi, who is begging.

He began poking the lady on the shoulder, pleading with her to at least give him a chance. "I swear, it's just that my difficulties are overlapping right now, and I'm not focused on earning money," he explained. "Please give me more time." The lady took his finger off her shoulder and pretended not to hear Takahashi's pleading. "Should we assist him?" Bara wondered. Of course, I'll assist him, and I believe it's the right thing for me to do. "If you want to help him, why are you just standing there watching?" Bara inquired. I just want to watch for a moment to see where this is heading and then speak when the time is perfect. "Let's just wait a minute," I said.

"I will never let you stay here, no matter what you do! I will never let you stay here, no matter how much blood you cry! You're interfering with my business, and if another person stayed in that room, I'd make money instead of someone like you who can't pay on time! ", said the lady. She continues to hurl Takahashi's belongings till he is down to his last possessions. "That was a nasty thing to say, especially to a man like him who is going through a lot right now," Bara added. I stared at the land woman with my hand up. The land lady runs over to me and raises her hand. Takahashi has turned his gaze to us, and he is following the lady who is running towards us. I said, "Is that apartment available?"

"It is, in fact, available! You can rent it right now if you want, and you can also stay there right now if you want! ", added the lady. It appears that she assumed I was interested in renting her place. Why would she believe an upper knight like me would be interested in renting a tiny room? "Please give me an autograph," she asked. I sign the paper she hands me right away and hand it back to her. "What about this man? Where will he now reside? Isn't he the one who's renting that room? What are your plans for him?" I inquired. In another minute, my plan will come to fruition, and this will be my day, and most likely my happiest day.

"I don't care about that man, and I'm not going to let him stay there no matter what. I am unconcerned about where he will stay, and it is not my business. He should start looking for a place to stay as soon as possible "said the lady. Takahashi takes a step forward and begins to interrupt our conversation. Takahashi asked, "Hey, what are you doing?" Bara motioned for him to keep silent, suggesting that he should leave these matters to me. "Have you heard what she said, young man? You should start looking for a place to stay, and I'm guessing you don't have one." I stated. Takahashi was pushed aside by the lady, who remarked, "You don't have to feel sorry for him because he'll most likely be able to find a place to stay. Simply hire this space."

I examine my fingers and re-do my nails. As I tried to look around, I said, "Well..." "I suppose I should feel sorry for him because he is my subordinate. He's a gold knight with a rank comparable to that of an upper knight like me. Wait, he didn't tell you about it? "I stated. The lady's expression is shocked, and she continues to stare at Takahashi. "Please excuse my subordinate if he didn't properly pay for that accommodation. I assume my subordinate is difficult to connect with, but I suppose we don't have a choice, right? You've already stated that you will not accept him and will not allow him to remain in this location, regardless of what he does or what happens. If that's the case, we respect your decision. "I spoke and bowed to her. "I'll let him stay, Madam! You should have notified me sooner!" exclaimed the lady. This lady is highly insulting since she has no authority to tell me when I should talk. "Also, you said he needs to start looking for a place to stay, right?" I asked. "Well, I have some wonderful news for you." I wink at Takahashi as I gaze into his eyes. "He'll be staying with me now," I said.
