Nancy squealed excitedly when she spotted Paige “You wore it. You look so hot right now. I need a picture.” She turned to face the same way Paige was facing and took a selfie then turned around and snapped a full length of Paige. “Man, you have a body I would kill for.” Paige almost scoffed at that considering Nancy filled out the very shapely dress in every manner possible. She had the perfect 8 figure. “You look amazing too,” she said instead. “Thank you. I know and peep my hair. It actually behaved” She fluffed her now semi-straight hair which was pulled up into a tight high ponytail. She seemed to have arranged jewels in them. “It looks really good.” “I know. We should get this party started.” Nancy wrapped her arm around Paige’s and pulled her into the house. “You came!” Bonnie exclaimed when she saw Paige. “Look guys, I told you I could get her to come,” She told her friends “Come on in. Enjoy the party for a minute. Who are you?” She asked putting out a hand to stop Nancy. “Nancy Walker. Nice to meet you.” She extended a hand. Bonnie ignored it. “I don’t recall inviting you.” “I invited her.” Paige cut in. “I see.” She sized Nancy up then plastered a fake smile “Enjoy the party. Maybe stay away from the snacks though. Not many fashionable clothes come in size 24.” “Oh, I wouldn’t mind a size increase, it just means more of me to go around.” Nancy quipped back returning her fake smile. “Hmm,” Bonnie rolled her eyes and walked away. “I cannot believe you are friends with her,” Nancy had to almost shout over the music in the house. “We are absolutely not friends,” Paige replied immediately. “So how did you get an invite?” “I am not entirely sure.” “Well, one thing is for sure. Her house is amazing.” Paige agreed. Though the house looked formidable even from the outside, it looked amazing inside with its gold and white walls, contemporary art, and extensive décor. “Please tell me that has alcohol,” Nancy said to herself heading for the beer keg. She grabbed a cup from a random boy and took a sip “It does.” she handed it back to him, got a new cup from the stack, and filled the cup. “Beer?” She asked Paige “No thanks.” “You don’t drink?” “Not in public.” “This is a party, honey. Anyways, it is perfect. If I get too drunk, please let me crash at your place because my mom will give me s**t for it.” “What is too drunk?” “If I can’t pronounce esophagus. For some reason, I mispronounce it if I get too drunk.” “Okay.” “Beer pong!!” Nancy yelled and the next second, Paige found herself across the room. She watched for a while as people played, she didn’t understand why people played these games but she supposed it was fun to them. “Paige, there you are. We are playing truth or dare come join us.” “I…,” “You wouldn’t have come to a party if you don’t play.” Bonnie’s voice held a warning. “Okay. Nancy, do…,” “She is not invited.” “I don’t want to play with you anyway,” Nancy claimed. “This is way more fun.” “Good.” “You sure you want to go with her? I have a bad feeling.” Nancy whispered to Paige when Bonnie started to leave. “I don’t have much of a choice. See you soon?” “Sure. Have fun.” It was easy to spot Bonnie because the crowd parted as she made her way through it. Paige followed her into a small living room where about 20 people already sat in a circle. “You can just sit right there beside Dustin,” Bonnie said sitting at the supposed head of the circle. Dustin waved at Paige and she eyed the tiny space beside him and another guy. She knew Dustin. He was a senior and he was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Lucy, Bonnie’s best friend. She however did not remember the name of the other guy. “Um…,” Paige sat, slightly outside the circle so she wouldn’t be crushed between them. “Come on, move in closer. We need a circle, not a spiral” Bonnie reminded and she shuffled forward a bit. The other guy tried to move politely but Dustin just covered up the space. “Come on angel, I don’t bite. Well, not unless you want me to” Dustin grinned but she only blinked at him, blushed, then looked for a way so only their knees were touching. “All right everybody. You know the rules, spin the bottle, and whomever the mouth ends on answers the question from whomever the bottom ends up on. If they can’t answer or we don’t believe they are telling the truth, then they do the dare from this hat.” Paige knew without a shadow of doubt that she was opposite Bonnie. If this was not a setup she didn’t know what was. Now she could only pray that the bottle did not end up on her. Things were going well. So far, six people had kissed, and one person had done a lap dance. Someone else had swallowed paper and three people confessed to being p*rn addicts. Paige was feeling quite lucky as the bottle never landed on her and from the look of it, people were getting bored. “Let’s play something else.” Lucy suggested. “Just one last turn.” Bonnie spun the bottle. Paige was not paying attention anymore. She was analyzing the brush stroked on a painting above the mantel but the collective laugh of the group brought her back. The bottle had ended up on her. Bonnie was looking at her with unbridled victory in her expression “Looks like you have to answer my question now.” Paige swallowed. “Let’s see. Paige, have you ever had s*x?” Bonnie asked and the circle giggled. “I…um…I..” Paige bit her lip. Saying No would mean she was a target for teasing and not answering was an answer on its own. “Is that hard? Let me make it easier. Have you ever made out?” Paige thought back to the day in her kitchen with Cade. She had definitely made out. “Yes.” She answered softly. “I don’t believe you.” Someone in the circle shouted. “Me neither.” “Neither do I.” Bonnie agreed “But it is the truth.” “Oh yeah? With who?” She would rather go down to the deepest darkest pits of hell’s torture chamber than answer that. If she so much as mentioned that she had anything to do with Cade, Bonnie would destroy her. She knew enough to know Bonnie had a humongous crush on Cade. He had never looked twice at her though but it was an unwritten rule that Cade would either be with Bonnie or no one else in the school. And Cade had never minded because from her ‘research’ he ran through more college girls than she did elastic hairbands. “Just somebody.” “Lies.” Bonnie claimed “You have to do the dare now. Come on. Grab a paper.” Paige hesitated “Fine, I will take one for you.” She wiggled her hand around and picked a paper then opened it and a wide grin split her face “Well, well seems like you can prove your answer,” She scrunched up the paper “You are to make out with whoever is to your right.” “What?” Paige’s eyes grew. “What?” Lucy asked in disbelief. “Well, well.” Dustin smirked before adding “Good thing I chewed some Clorets earlier.” “I can’t.” Paige shook her head vehemently starting to stand up “No, no angel. The rule of the game is, you have to perform the task.” Dustin held her arm. “So, pucker up.” He grabbed her chin, and Paige’s heart started to thrum in her chest when his face gravitated closer to hers. She tried to move but his grip on her chin was too tight. As his lips were a breath away from hers, she shut her eyes tightly and stopped breathing waiting for the impact of his lips. But it never came. In fact, she felt his presence disappear completely and when she heard a crash, her eyes opened to a blur of black clothes.
