"She was Alpha Sky's best friend ever since middle school." Jenn started after looking at Jo who just shrugged. "They were thick as thieves. Got in trouble together too. But about 4 years ago, they weren't quite as close. No one knows what really happened. Rumor has it she's in love with him and he found out. That couldn't have gone well." "How can she be in love with him? What of the mate bond and stuff?" Kayleigh asked then felt a shadow above her and looked up to see Celia by their table. "Can I help you?" "You are going to answer some questions for me." Celia replied "Move." She told Jenn who scooted to the empty seat allowing Celia to sit opposite Kayleigh. "Am I?" Kayleigh quirked a brow. "If you want to continue working here, you are." Celia's smile was pure devil. "Is that so?" Kayleigh raised a brow. "First off, you should drop that cocky attitude. The only reason you're here is because Sky owed someone a favor, I'm sure." Celia concluded flipping her perfectly curled hair. Jo coughed while Jenn just swallowed. They both knew that Kayleigh could banish Celia. It would be the drama of the century. Jenn started to wonder who Sky would support. "If you say so it must be true." Kayleigh shrugged then sighed as she felt another shadow. "Where were you?" Jo's voice snapped. She was on edge. The confrontation could get ugly and she could not take on Celia but could also not let Kayleigh get hurt. “I'm sorry. I went on a bathroom break and Lacy was supposed to cover for me but..." The girl in what seemed like a uniform with its black skirt and white button-up rushed to explain. "You know what never mind." Jo cut. "What will you have L.... Kayleigh?" Jo corrected quickly. Kayleigh was about to answer when Celia jumped in. "Aren't you forgetting the hierarchy here Joanna?" "Actually, it's just Jo," she replied, "And the Alpha gave me specific instructions to treat her like I would treat the Luna." Or words to that effect. "Sky said what?!" Her gaze went from Jo's face to Kayleigh's then back to Jo and again to Kayleigh. "Let's continue talking while we eat. I'm starving" Kayleigh asked cutting off Celia who was opening her red lips to talk. Two minutes and a lot of glaring from Celia later, their food was served and the server had disappeared. "You two, get out,” Celia ordered and Jo looked at Kayleigh who just nodded. Before they left, she took Jenn’s phone from her purse, a plan on her mind. She normally did not fight so dishonorably but she had more things to worry about than a jealous ex. "I'll be on the other table." Jo sighed and pulling Jenn to her feet, they left the table with their trays. "So....?" Kayleigh asked looking around. The people in the cafeteria had their eyes on them "You seem to be a hotshot around here." "Where are you from?" Celia asked. "The sky," Kayleigh smirked. "What are you to Sky?" Straight to the point. "Why are you asking?" Amusement. "Because I know you can be nothing but a favor to someone." "Then why do you seem so threatened by 'a favor to someone?'" "Threatened? By you?" Celia sized her up once "I don't think so." "That's nice to know." Kayleigh tapped the desk then started on her food "Now if you're done, I'd like to eat. I'm starving you see." "Are you dismissing me right now?" "Oh, was that not clear?" "You bitch." "Oh yes, keep your schedule clear for me tomorrow, I want to have executive meetings. I am assuming you are at least an executive here." "What?!" Kayleigh's answering smile returned Celia’s earlier poison. "Turns out, I'm your boss" She reminded her and Celia's eyes went green. "You do not want to test me human. I could rip you apart in milliseconds." Celia warned leaning in close. Kayleigh did the same. "And risk Sky's anger? I doubt it. You probably turn to mush around him. You wouldn't want him to be mad at you now would you?" The table cracked under Celia's hand. "I'll get you, Kayleigh. You just watch." "I'm not one to say but just so you know, I'm probably going to tell Sky about our little conversation," Kayleigh informed sitting up and putting her hands in her lap and Celia's eyes went wide. " You wouldn't dare. I'll have you strapped to a tree and beaten up. I have many, many shady contacts. And you're just one measly human." "Hmm," Kayleigh thought for a moment "Let me tell you how this is going to work… Celina" Ahe intentionally mispronounced the name and was impressed when Celia didn't respond to her obvious insult choosing a roll of her eye instead "You are going to cooperate with me or I am telling Sky about our...conversation." "He wouldn't believe you anyway," Celia smirked "Why would he believe you over his years long friend." Kayleigh had a reason for her. But she didn't want to tell Celia that. So, instead she brought out the phone she had taken from Jenn who was too busy talking to realize and punched in some keys. "What are you doing?" Celia frowned. "There." Kayleigh sighed "Backed up. Now I have proof." "Proof?" "Oh, you need an explanation... Damn you're slow girl. You should take lessons from me. So, it's like this, I just recorded you, threatening me. And I won't bother trying to delete it." Kayleigh stated when Celia posed to lung for her "I backed it up to Cloud and as soon as I leave here I'm sending it to Cherry. Now about that deal," Kayleigh leaned in further ignoring the table that was now cracked all the way across "Cooperate with me and please don't give me unnecessary drama or the Love of your seemingly sad life will find out about you threatening to tie up his 'favor' to a tree and get beaten up. Do we have a deal?" "I'll get you back for this Kayleigh. I promise." There was venom in all of Celia's voice. "Yeah, yeah. You'll rip out my throat at night or send people to rip up all my clothing... Do we have a deal?" Kayleigh asked again "I mean it's not like I'm saying you must like me or be nice or anything. You must simply be co-operative." Celia growled then picked her purse and left the table fumes all over her. "What did she say? Did she threaten you? What did you say? Did you tell her?" Jenn was the first to arrive at the table with loads of questions. "She was very nice. And very cooperative." "Are you okay?" Was Jo's simple question to which she nodded. "We should finish up here so we can get back to work" Kayleigh urged continuing her food while Jo and Jenn exchanged confused glances before eating too.
