The forest around me grew quieter after my words. Even the distant rustling of leaves seemed to fade as Sarah's blue eyes bore into mine.
"Alexander... your mate?" she finally said, her voice dripping with disbelief.
Her laugh came next, sharp and cutting, like claws raking through the tension.
Maria, standing behind her, sneered. "You’ve got to be joking."
Rachel joined with a huff of amusement, crossing her arms. "An Omega? Seriously? What kind of fantasy are you living in?"
