(Sarah's POV)
My claws dug into the damp earth as I watched Rachel and Maria struggle wildly in the glowing binds. The magical runes pulsing around them mocked every effort they put into escaping. Their anguished sounds grated against my ears, feeding the wrath boiling inside me.
This wasn’t how things were supposed to go.
My sharp gaze jerked back to her, Aspen—a pathetic excuse for a wolf—standing just beyond the boundary of the runes, untouched. She didn’t gloat, didn’t smile smugly as I would’ve expected. She just stood there, calm and composed, as though this were nothing more than an inconvenience to her.
She let them be caught.
It didn’t make any sense! How could someone like her, a weak and trembling Omega, avoid those traps so easily? Wolv
