By the time my afternoon lecture ended, half the medical department had somehow heard about what happened in the courtyard and the other half was actively discussing it. Wonderful. Exactly what every person wanted after public humiliation. Attention. I walked through the corridor pretending not to notice the whispers around me. The strategy would’ve worked better if people actually lowered their voices.
