Chapter 19 Bethany counted the minutes. At 12:58 a.m., precisely, she snuck from her bedroom, a small blanket under her arm, and hurried to the oak tree closest to the barn. There, she spread out the blanket, shut her eyes, and waited for Merlin’s greeting. Joy filled her when it came. Together, as they did every night, they concentrated on finding Michael Rempart. That night, somehow, miraculously, she found him. Her mind connected with his memories of Rachel Gooding.
