Chapter 21 St. Petersburg, 1918 As soon as Militsa’s driver stopped on the driveway of Stana’s house, Militsa got out of the back seat of her automobile and told her driver to wait. She hurried to the front door and pounded loudly using the large brass knocker. A crying maid opened the door and pointed the way to the parlor. Militsa stopped at the doorway and looked with dismay at the pile of suitcases and boxes.
