The next morning, while I was doing housework, Paula dropped by to chat with Mum. "Have you heard the news? The two men who have been wandering around for days were arrested by the police!"
Paula was a famous gossiper in the community, always up to date on whose child failed an exam or whose cat gave birth.
Mum, surprised, responded, "Really? They were arrested? Are they really bad people? They had wandered around for days. What did they want to do?"
Living in one of the poorest communities in the pack, the residents were humble people with little money. If someone wanted to rob or steal, they wouldn't choose this place.
Paula , living up to her role, lowered her voice and continued, "You can’t call them bad people because they didn't do anything against the law here. But..."
