Chapter 15
WHEN WE FINISHED AT the school, my father suggested it was time to visit Courtney. My heart skipped at the thought as we walked out of the school and back the way we came.
“Another portal?” I asked when I realized we would be leaving the Magic Realm. “You didn’t say that Courtney had been taken out of this realm.”
He touched the sign that would open the portal for us. All the excitement I felt upon seeing my sister again was put on hold. Before I could indulge my emotions, I needed to know what was going on and why.
“I said she was with my cousin,” he reminded me. My father was not one to lecture, it would seem, but there was a way he said it that made me think I should have recalled such a thing.
