Chapter 10 PEOPLE STARED AT ME, as I walked along the street, heading back toward the Council buildings. I didn’t understand why. Did I have some kind of target on my back? My insides crawled with unease. Did they know something I didn’t? No-one spoke to me, nor to any of my escorts, which didn’t really surprise me. They were intimidating.
