Prologue
The domain of death is not as gloomy or horrifying as they portray. Well, for this part, at the least, it seems bland and colorless. Filled with gray skies and a moody river, it almost seems peaceful. Watching over this realm of death is a giant-like figure. Eyes filled with uncountable star clusters with more prominent figures than the entire realm. How can one describe this feeling? One can't help but awe at sight, and a sense of fear deep within one’s heart starts to bloom; what is one compared to this being? Can one even get its attention? A state of powerlessness came to those who saw but never answered.
The being looks at a particular soul on the river. It is filled with one glowing and one dimming light.
On the other side, there was a young man at the age of ten filled with sadness as he looked at his mother's grave—this feeling of powerlessness, this feeling of despair.
With this, he swears that he'll never be weak again from this day onward.
He pushed forward then fainted.
The moment he woke up, he was already in a world with gray skies and a gray river. He walked forward as he was about to touch the gray river; a voice rang out the entire realm.
"boy, you seek power to defy your fate, then I shall give you that power. Of course, there's a price."
The boy looked around, but there was no one beside him; when he finally looked up, he saw eyes filled with countless star clusters that encompassed the entire realm. Well. Fear was rising within him. An existential dread, but he didn't let fear take over. He put all his strength to say yes. Then the being replied, "The price: the memories of your loved ones and your body will be changed for this power. I hope you don't disappoint."
When the boy heard the price, he was hesitant, but alas, it was all too late. Light shone upon all the realm, and he was reborn anew.
