As another open practice finished up, head coach Jill Ellis notified the team that she agreed upon letting a few of the younger fans on the field for autographs. Jill was big on representation amongst the USWNT. "I LOOK LIKE YOU! I'M GOIMG TO BE YOU!" Massy was caught off guard by the girl pushing her way through the crowd of women and pulling her into a hug. The girl clung onto Massy's arm, in aww of her standing in front of her. Massy eyes were wide as she hugged the girl back. "What's your name!?" Massy asked smiling at her. The girl smiled showing Massy a similar set of dimples and braces on her top and bottom teeth. "Torrie... Oh my god." The young girl could barley get her name out. "I'm Massy, you ok?" "I know, I just can't believe you're standing in front of me... Like I'm going to be like you... I look like you..." Large tears began falling from the girls eyes, she covered her face with both her hands to cover herself from people seeing her cry. "Oh gosh, don't cry, please!" Massy begged her trying to hold back tears herself, but it was too late. Massy wiped the tears from under her eyes to keep them from falling down her cheek.  She pulled the girl back into a tight hug. "You're like... Every... Everything to me." She said through her crying trying her hardest to get the words out. Massy held her for a little longer before pulling away and wiping the tears from the girls face. Massy pulled the soccer cleats from her feet and put her autograph on one, them wrote Torrie a personal note on the side of the other one. Then handed both of them to her. She began crying harder at the gesture. All Massy could do was hold the girl. Their conversation continued as she told Massy her dream of playing with her in the 2020 Olympics, and playing for Team USA. Torrie was a sponge as she asked multiple questions of Massy's day to day life as a Pro Athlete. MassyAriasII: I'll never forget this day. Thank you Torrie for changing my life, and thank you for Believing in me. You truly are my inspiration to continue to be great in everything I do in hopes that young girls like you will dominate in sports. I hold you accountable to work at your dream of playing for the USWNT and with me in the 2020 Olympics. Never let anyone throw you off track of that dream or take it from you. You are the future. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Massy's mother Cynthia sat in her daughters San Diego condo, she there for a health convention. Odell sitting on the counter across from her. "I mean, I've lived life without her, so I know what it's like to not be with ..." Odell paused for a moment, trying to put his words in the right place. "Then I met her, but after loosing her I didn't like how my life was without her." The complete change Odell was going through was something that Massy's mother was taken back by, he seemed to evolve into a whole different man. "You needing to tell her you loved her was all you needed to do. "Basically." Odell looked down at his fingers, pickings at the calluses on the inside of his hand. "You've never loved someone." Cynthia knowingly said with a smile. Even though Odell and her were the only two in the condo she put him on the spot. Odell looked up at Cynthia for a moment. "I've HAD love for someone, but nah, I've never loved someone the way I love Massy." "How do you know?" Cynthia asked him, still giving him that knowing smile. Odell paused for a moment, he frowned and looked at Cynthia. "... I don't know... I get happy when she's happy, I get excited for her, I get nervous for her, I want to protect her from anybody that talks negatively about her or try's to hurt her... Other than football, she has the ability to make me mad, sad, happy, stressed, excited... All that." Cynthia smiled as Odell put the pieces together. "I know you two are young, and I can tell you there is going to be many more bumps in the road. Still learning and growing, not just as individuals, but as a couple... Odell there's one thing that I need you to show my daughter, show her that there is more to life than soccer. Show her that she has more to offer to the World than just kicking a soccer ball. Show her that she can love something other than soccer. Her father has spent 23 years molding her into nothing but a top athlete. And if you truly love Massy the way you say you do, you will show her that she can do everything. Now I'm not telling you to stop her from her dream of being this Legendary soccer player, just show her that she can love something just as much as she loves soccer, show her she can love something with that same amount of passion she has when she gets out on that field." Odell wasn't quite sure exactly what Cynthia meant, but he sure was going to make it a mission to truly find out. Cynthia may have only said Massy's name but she was also secretly telling him to hold Massy as tight as he could, because she too would show him there's more than just football and partying with friends. Cynthia knew Massy and Odell had seven more years of their selfish phase in life. Whether they spent those next seven years together or not, if they did it right, they'd never truly forget one another. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Massy's excitement of seeing her mother was an understatement, the relationship she had with her was a calming one. Her mother was always the one to center her, bring her back down to earth. With everything going on, having to be here and there at the same time, her mother somehow always managed to focus her. "He wants me to move in with him." Massy confessed to her mother, as she laid across the couch on her back with her head in her mother's lap. Cynthia looked down at Massy in shock. "Really? Wow, that's a big step." "I know, I figured we do like a practice run. Like, I bring a majority of my stuff there for like a month and we see how it goes. If it works I'll move to Jersey with him and Mari will move into the New York house." "And your condo here?" Cynthia asked trying to get all the details. "Well obviously I'd have to keep it. Our home facility is here, this is where we practice during the winter." Massy said looking up at her mother. Cynthia stroked Massy's hair. "Well, sounds like you've got everything planned out. I know you two will be perfectly fine." "How do you know." "Because he loves you Massy." Massy looked up at her mother as she chewed on the inside of her cheek, if her mother was so sure about them working, then there was no reason for her to doubt it.
