When Odell and Massy were both on the field they were pretty much the same person, both having a natural ability for athleticism, making what they did look easy, and to them it was easy, it was natural. Being mentally, emotionally, and physically attached to their sport. Their emotions getting the best of them in good and bad situations.
Like Odell being a Wide Receiver catching in any and every possible position, he was the one that made the touchdown, he was the one that completed the play, Massy being a Forward, she had to be able to kick in any possible circumstance, she was the one who scored the goals, she was the one that completed the plays. Both having to mix speed and footwork together to battle off defenders.
The only time they were similar was on the field, However off the field, Massy and Odell couldn't of been more different. Massy, being more open, vocal, being able to speak on her wants, likes, and dislikes. Odell being much more quiet, not really knowing how to speak on his emotions when it came to anything other than sports. He realized this wasn't just a crush for him, she wasn't just something for him to do it and it took seeing her in the presences of another man for him to admit to himself that he loves her, now it was just getting up enough courage to admit it to her.
As other teams continued to play and knock one another out for positions in the World Cup. Brazil, Canada, and USA played the waiting game. Massy pretty much uprooting herself to California. The team had none stop press after taking to the field in a open practice, media and fans that had access sat in the stadium seats, staff and security walked the perimeter making sure everything ran as smooth as it was supposed to.
Sports Illustrated released their World Cup issues. Four different covers, with four different players gracing it. Massy being one of them. Massy had made it to the World Cup, now it was just a matter of winning it. Massy found herself yet again in another press conference, trying her hardest to remain professional, covering her mouth to keep the cameras from catching her yawning.
"Massy how do you feel about going up against Sweden again!?"
Massy looked up as soon as she heard her name giving the reporter her full attention. "No feelings really, just beat them like we did last time and move on to the next game." She shrugged her shoulders.
"But you're not worried about your injury?"
"I did have a groin injury, but it's fine now, back to normal. The way I play hasn't changed." Massy said back with confidence, trying her best to avoid from appearing angry.
"So them injuring you isn't a issue?" Massy frowned at the reporter, his condescending tone of voice, as if he was trying to make her anger as if he was trying to see her out of character.
"No." Massy simply said, not allowing him to get under her skin.

While Odell was landing in LA trying to figure out the perfect way to explain his actions, Michael was getting closer. Their friendship growing. After her practice Massy was seen once again out with Michael. Odell found himself looking at yet another set of brand new photos of Massy and Michael sitting court side again at another Lakers game.
Of course the photos of him with his arm around the back of her chair, and the two of them smiling and laughing at one another jokes seemed to be the most popular throughout social media. Michael's accessibility to Massy making Odell jealous was an understatement. He was able to get ahold of her at anytime he or she was free. Odell was making this harder than what it really was.
"Oooo, this is going to be awkward." Mari said opening the door.
Massy looked up past her sister to see Odell walking behind Mari. Her home filled with a few of her friends, along with Michael and his. Massy frowned but smiled. "Heyyy! What are you doing here!?" She asked hugging him. Odell was surprised she wasn't cussing him out. It could of been the high of her going to the World Cup in a month but she was all smiles.
Odell leaned down wrapping his arms around her waist, he clung onto her tighter than normal, her arms wrapped around his neck, she pulled off of him, and looked at him with concern. "You ok?"
Odell looked down at her, his eyes then traveled to her left, Michael stood feet away from them, clearly Odell had interrupted a conversation they were in the middle of having. He frowned and stood up straight. "What is he doing here?" Odell asked completely ignoring her previous question.
Massy turned her head looking at Michael. "We're just hanging out." She said c*****g her head back.
"I'll give y'all a moment." Michael said sensing the tension.
"Yea, you do that." Odell said as Michael began to push himself off the counter.
Michael paused for a moment looking at Odell. "Easy Giant, don't let the acting skills fool you." He calmly said looking Odell in the eyes.
Massy stood between two Bulls. Both men making fists at the same time, jaws clenching, nostrils flaring. Odell was seconds away from causing a scene. Michael remaining calm waiting for Odell to make any sudden moves, ready to catch him with a left of right. Massy pushed on Odell's stomach causing him to step back. "Stop. Come on." She said pulling him down the hall so she could speak to him privately. Odell continued walking backwards his eyes still on him. Michael gave Odell a slick grin as she watched Massy push him back.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Odell!?" Massy hissed hitting Odell in the arm.
"What the f**k is he doing here!? This is what the f**k you meant by focusing on the World Cup, I'm being fuckin patient while you entertaining that nigga!?" Odell hissed back at her through clenched teeth.
Massy's nostrils flared, her eyebrows cut so far inward. "First off! Do not cuss at me! Second I am very much focusing on a World Cup considering the fact that I will be playing in it in a month! And third! Me and him are friends, neither of us are looking to date one another!"
"Right?! Cuz going to an award show that lil date in Brazil was nothing."
"It was a thank you! I was supporting a friend. Who flew out the country three days earlier than what he was supposed too, to come support me and see me play! Which by the way is something you have yet to do! So YES! I said I would be his date and show him support at his event!" Massy said clearing up the air, Odell huffed through his nose. His jaw still clenched.
"Look, I'm sorry..."
Massy cut him off, putting her finger in his face. "No! A asshole is what you are!
"Massy, what the fu... What do you expect me to think when every time I look up you two are giggling court side with one another taking trips to the store nshit!?" Odell said, not sure if he was about to cry or break something. His frustration was getting the best of him.
"Michael is a friend, he's not even looking for a relationship, and I'm definitely not using him to make you jealous. How the hell could I possibly start a new relationship when I'm still trying to figure out what the hell is going in between you and me?" Massy said being as honest as she possibly could.
Odell stepped back from Massy, he sat down on the bed putting his head in his hands. Massy chewed on the inside of her cheek. "Odell..."
"Massy I love you!" Odell finally blurted out as he looked at her.
Massy stepped back, her face became unreadable, her mouth slightly open, she looked down at Odell. Massy finally realizing why Odell was acting the way he was, he was falling for her and but didn't know how to handle it, he asked her to work with him, show him what he was doing wrong, it was because he loved her but didn't know how to say. He was scared.
"Odell..." Massy said again before squatting down in front of him. "Hey." She grabbed his face making him look at her. His eyes were watery as he looked at her feeling genuinely sorry for the way he had been acting.
"I love you too." Odell closed his eyes at the sound of her saying it back to him. In that very moment the world seemed to be lifted from his shoulders, he had been holding that in for longer than he should have.
Massy wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him into a hug, Odell stood up causing her to stand as well. Odell wrapped his arms around her waist, shoving his face in the crook of her neck. "I love you." He whispered again, every time making it easier and easier to say. "I love you."
