Chapter Six

1500 Words
Kira sighed as she watched Jacob hold Simone’s arm to keep her from falling as she stood from putting on her skates. Everyone from school had made their way to the skating rink for the party yet Kira was the only one not excited. For days, Kira had been feeling unhappy with life. She wanted to do nothing more than return to 2021 and seek total isolation.  Simone was a Queen of an entire planet, Zoie was extremely powerful, and Kira felt unneeded. She was tired of being dragged into the problems caused by her sisters but most of all, she was angry. Not because she participated in the idea of them returning to school but because neither one of her sisters had been trying to find a way back to 2021. Zoie would lock herself in her room as soon as they made it home from school and wouldn’t come out until the next morning, Simone would talk about the popular siblings at the school or relax without once mentioning 2021.  Enough was enough.  “See you later!” Simone yelled as she skated away from Kira. Kira placed a fake smile on her face as Jacob followed behind Simone. Kira looked at Zoie who remained in the corner with her arms crossed. Standing up, Kira advanced towards her sister.  “Are you good?” Kira asked. "I think we need to escape this decade, Kira." Zoie murmured. "I've been seeing things change around me and I trust it has something to do with us existing in the wrong time." “We are damaging the timeline.” Kira responded. Slowly, Zoie nodded in agreement. “I’m beginning to think that coming to school was a bad idea.”  “It was.” Kira mumbled. Pushing herself from the wall, Zoie sighed heavily.  “I’ll be back.” Zoie muttered. Without waiting for Kira to say anything else, Zoie walked out of the building. Standing in the same spot, Kira rolled her eyes as Harry smiled brightly while making his way closer to her. With a scoff, Kira prepared to walk away but was stopped by Harry grabbing her hand.  “What did I do to deserve the cold shoulder, baby?” Harry teased.  “I’m not your baby.”  Harry moaned. "What's wrong? I've noticed that you ladies will act heartless when something has maddened you."  “You’re like my sister.” Kira mumbled as she chuckled. “I’ve noticed that you both sound like you're much older when you speak.”  “You didn’t answer my question.” Harry said while poking Kira on the side.  “It’s a long story.” Kira sighed.  Taking Kira’s hand, Harry led her out of the rink and towards his black BMW that was parked on the side of the rink. Kira noticed that he had parked in the darkest area of the parking lot with no other car being around. Opening the door to the passengers' side, Harry stood there.  "Get in." He requested.  "For what?"  "Clearly, something is annoying you and I'd prefer nobody else be in your business, other than myself, so get in the vehicle for more protection." Harry answered. Kira said nothing else as she got into the vehicle. Harry shut the door and strolled to the driver's side before sitting in the driver's seat and closing the door behind him. Turning towards her, he raised a brow and smiled. “I just feel like I am not good enough.” Kira revealed. “Why would you think that?”  “My cousins are held up to a high standard. They’re destined to be great and then there’s me who is just there. I have no purpose. The crazy part about everything is I’m the one who has to constantly clean up the problems that they cause.” Kira explained.  Harry sat back and sighed. “Not to shift the focus but I understand. My father has always been a little strict on my siblings and I. We didn’t have much freedom growing up plus it was very crowded back home. We were constantly being held up to these elevated requirements while needing to satisfy such countless individuals but then when we reached our teenage years, the attention went to Nate.”  “Really?” Kira asked. Harry gestured. "Most of us felt so out of circle. We were disengaged while our dad and Nate spent plenty of time together. I’ll admit that I was hurt at first. Growing up, we were all close so seeing our father show favoritism really affected me. However, I realized that I needed to get out and explore my own interests. The world is large enough for everyone to prosper with their own thing so why stay stuck in a place and constantly deal with the comparisons and isolation? Shockingly, our father agreed that we needed to explore so he was on board with our freedom. He didn’t get upset and he’s the one who told us about this place.”  “Wait, you just left home and moved here? How? You’re teenagers!” Kira exclaimed. Realizing that he had said a little too much, Harry bit his lip and mentally cursed himself. “We moved here to live with our aunt.” Harry lied. “The point of my story is that you’re not motivated. You need to go out there and find your purpose. Stop focusing on what your cousins have going on and stop worrying about what others think of you. Instead, go be on your own and explore. Everyone’s good at something.” “What are you good at?” Kira asked. Smirking, Harry placed a hand under Kira’s chin before lifting her head up and placing his lips onto her. Slowly, he pulled away as Kira stared at him in shock.  “That.” Harry answered as he leaned back against the seat. “And a few other things.”  It had been a while since Zoie left Kira in the rink but she needed the space. Standing behind the building, Zoie covered her head with her hands and grunted. The voices were talking loudly to the point where she couldn’t hear her own thoughts.  “Come home.” One of the voices shouted.  “Goddammit!” Zoie harshly whispered. Looking around, Zoie knew that she needed to relieve some of the stress. Peeping around the building, she laid eyes on a black BMW with fogged windows and thought about throwing the car. However, it seemed to be too expensive. Placing her hand over her mouth, Zoie screamed.  Taking a deep breath, Zoie walked from behind the building and towards the entrance. Suddenly, a hand wrapped around her wrist. Looking up, Zoie stared at Nate.  “What the actual f**k is wrong with you?” Zoie asked.  “Did my father send you?” Nate asked as he squeezed Zoie’s wrist tightly.  “I’m about to send my foot up your ass if you don’t let me go.” Zoie threatened before snatching her arm away from Nate.  “You have no innocence!” Nate exclaimed. "There's literally nothing pure about you! Evil prowls inside you and I can sense it." “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Zoie muttered while walking away. Nate said or did nothing as the doors to the rink closed. He would get to the bottom of it and he knew exactly how.  Meanwhile, Queen Marie of Runne sat on her throne as she shook her head in shock. Hours ago, Runne was shaken by what seemed to be a large quake. Something like this had never happened before which worried her deeply. Sending some of the stronger warriors around the planet, Queen Marie was now shocked at the news that had just been told to her.  “Your Majesty, there is no other explanation.” The warrior known as Raphael stated. “We were not the only ones affected but the universe itself was shaken.”  “How is this possible!” Queen Marie exclaimed.  “I apologize, Your Majesty but we do not know. Earth was the only planet to not be affected by this unexplainable quake. However, Earth is the home to humans.” He answered.  “Earth has those aliens on it.” Queen Marie whispered.  “Your Majesty, they are called human beings. Humans do not have powers meaning inhumans must be residing on the planet.” Raphael revealed.  “Prepare the guards and send Hatez because he’s able to sense whenever an inhuman is close. Bring me whatever inhumans you find on Earth.” Queen Marie demanded.
