Untitled Episode
Had Kelly known that her day would turn out annoying, she probably wouldn't have resumed for work that morning. Meeting an arrogant young man who thought of himself a demigod, was probably God's way of punishing her for an unconfessed sin. Imaginary pictures of her throwing punches at this young good looking man filled her head. Throwing bloodshot looks at him, she murmured underneath her breathe, daring not to speak out. Ambrose scoffed at her audacity and made up his mind to teach her a lesson.
Ambrose Stan, the only son of three children of the wealthy owner of STAN HOUSEHOLD GROUPS, the leading group in the business world, was standing right in front of a simple but sometimes stubborn Kelly Gabriel, a twenty-five year-only daughter, who worked part-time jobs to help herself and her family. Though she was a college student, she did multiple jobs because her parents weren't good to do. Working at Splash pasta was one of her numerous jobs and she had never had issues with any customers until that day.
"... lick it up." Kelly heard Ambrose say.
" What?" She suddenly looked up even more confused.
" Lick what up?" She asked, not sure of what he was talking about since she was lost in thought earlier.
" You heard me loud and clear." He grinned.
"This shoe you just spilled cake on is worth more than your petty life and that of your family. Now, clean this off before you enjoy the rest of your days on earth, packing excreta." Ambrose Stan threatened with a smirk on his face.
" I..." She wanted to argue but changed her mind against it. Kelly looked at her boss, then at everyone else sitting in the restaurant hoping someone would intervene or say something, but everyone kept mute, acting like they didn't see what was happening. Everyone knew better than to get into trouble with the annoying yet successful young business executive.
"I'm sorry," Kelly quickly added. Her mum always told her sorry it worked most of the time, so she was hoping it would this time, since she finally made up her mind to use those words for the first time.
" You think sorry is going to clean this mess off my shoe? Dummy?" Ambrose yelled, startling Kelly and everyone in the restaurant.
Deep down, she wished she had spilled a hot cup of coffee on him, then it would have served him right. Taking a deep breath, she slowly went down on her knees, not knowing what to do thereafter. She couldn't imagine herself sticking out her tongue to. ..
" God, this guy is so heartless." She murmured, still on her knees. When the manager realized how bad things might get for his business, he ran to the stage.
The tall, slim elderly man quietly went down on his knees attempting to use a damp white towel to clean Ambrose shoes. The manager bent so low to the ground to the extent that his chest and head were touching the ground. This was more than enough food for Ambrose, though he was satisfied. He enjoyed the look of defeat and submission on the faces of the two folks kneeling in front of him.
Although Ambrose could still see the arrogance and stubbornness in the girl's face and he thought of something more humiliating.
" You have..."Ambrose was saying before he was interrupted by his personal assistant and only friend.
" Ambrose, we are going to be late for the meeting with your father." Bruce whispered to his ear now running out of patience with Ambrose's childish attitude.
" With this shoe?" He asked with a big frown..
In less than five seconds, Ambrose's driver walked in with a bag containing a pair of new shoes, looking more expensive than the previous one. He sat on the closest chair to him and the driver bent down on one knee ready to change the shoes.
" No, let her do it." He said, eyeing Kelly. He hated the look on her face and if not for his friend, he would have taught her some manners.
Kelly rolled her eyes, stood up from where she was kneeling and changed shoes, tired of the drama.
" Careful, you can't afford them." He whispered
Totally, ignoring him, she placed his feet gently on the floor. Looking up, her heart skipped a beat and she interpreted it with disdain. He had the most beautiful eyes yet so filled with pride.,, He finally stood up without a word and left the shop.
The manager heaved a sigh of relief, as did everyone else. The manager didn't fail to warn Kelly to avoid this man as much as she could. Kelly felt bad that the manager had to humiliate him because of her in the presence of his customers. Without asking further questions, she nodded, showing she understood.
Kelly picked the pair of shoes she accidentally spilled cake on, knowing fully well that she would need it in the future.
" We will surely meet again." She whispered as she watched him get into his car and zoom off.

Every house in town had a product of 'Stan household'; ranging from kitchen appliances to household furniture. Big deals and huge contracts were awarded to them year after year, with Ambrose at the forefront.
He preferred going to meetings with just Bruce, because winning a contract, especially if it involved young women, was a piece of cake. The women literally throw themselves in between his legs; yes; he is one hot man.
Sometimes, Ambrose tells Bruce not to bother with presentations and business plans on how to get their promising investors to work with them. All he needed to do was look hot and flash a soft smile at the women occasionally. Surprisingly, when they have a taste of what he could do with his soft hands and cold tongues, they literally come back begging for more.
" I will get us this contract without blinking." Ambrose often boasted most times, and surprisingly, he was often right.
