Love is just Illusion by Swapie Achilles
CHAPTER VIII
MAY
“Come on, man!” Carmel said as she runs outside their room towards the rest house where some of the servants and care takers are currently sleeping. “It’s too early for this.”
The moment she arrived at the scene where her lover is forcing her way through the door, she can’t help but let out a sigh of frustration, “give me a break~”
“Enjoy your day, Mr. Wilford.” As soon as she heard those words she immediately yelled at Isabell. “Can you please tell me what is going on?!”
“Ah! Carmel it’s you!” She beamed and lunged to hug her fiancée. To which the taller female begrudgingly accepted.
As they are both hugging each other with Isabell smiling like an i***t and Carmel with a stern look at her face, Isabell said, “hey look! Mr. Jack pinched my arm and it hurts like hell!”
She fakes a cry but her attempts are futile since Carmel saw right through her façade. And as Isabell shows her the mark of pinched, she flicked it hard.
“Ouch! That hurts!” The smaller woman said with a pained scowl on her face, “why did you do that? You’re so mean!” She whined.
“Just what in the world are you doing?!” Carmel was angry because who would do such thing, waking up early in the morning and then barged in to someone’s room without permission. “You got up too early and now you’re barging to someone’s room without any shame?!” She whisper-yelled.
Isabell halted, and then her eyes start to glistened. She’s crying. “You… you yelled at me.” She mumbled between cries.
“No… I…” Carmel was shock when she saw her state. “I didn’t-” She then interrupted with a loud cry.
“You’re mad! Carmel is mad at me!” She wailed.
The taller woman panics and instantly brought her hand to cupped the mouth of the crying woman avoiding the scenario where sleeping people are going to wake up with her loud cries and so she said, “no! I’m not mad, okay? So, stop crying! Please.”
With that being said, Isabell stops her wailing and nodded.
“Good.” Carmel mumbled and let out a sigh of relief, “now let’s get out of here.”
She said and grabbed the wrist of Isabell and dragged her out of the scene. As they walked Isabell is sniffing like a kid all the way to the manor.
“Say what?” Carmel said menacingly as she peered down at the sitting form of her fiancée in front of her, “I don’t think I heard you right. Care to repeat?”
She crossed her arms with furrowed eyebrows. Meanwhile, the sitting woman just fidgeted at the seat with her teary eyes that are looking anywhere but the glaring eyes of her lover.
“You heard me! I won’t tell you that again!” She squealed stubbornly crossing her arms mirroring the woman standing in front of her as she avoided her gaze.
“Oho~ I see. So, you don’t mind surviving a week- no, a month without any pudding, do you?” Carmel said intensifying the glare, as if Isabell can see the fire around her raging figure.
Isabell’s shoulder stiffens at the thought of her beloved pudding being taken away from her for the whole month yet she can’t clearly survive a day without her it.
“No! Not my pudding, you monster!” She yelled and kneeled in front of Carmel bawling her eyes out. “Anything! Please take away anything but not my pudding!”
“It’s settled then. Now! What are you going to say when you see Mr. Jack?” She asked more like interrogated the woman beneath her.
“I will say sorry and I will not do it again.” She mumbled loud enough for Carmel to hear, though her averting eyes, knitted eyebrows, and tone gives her away.
“You don’t seem sincere there, missy.” Carmel simply stated yet rage is still there.
Before Isabell could even repeat her apology, Jack cleared his throat that caught the attention of the two.
“Why does this man always appear during the most awkward moments of my life?” Isabell said through her greeted teeth.
“Good morning, Mr. Jack.” Said Carmel with a gentle smile on her lips.
“Good morning, Miss Carmel and to you too Miss Isabell.” Jack answered politely even though Isabell nearly wrecked his door earlier this morning.
“Hey! Come here, Isabell.” Carmel called out her fiancée’s name. But to her dismay her lover did not move an inch from where she’s kneeling.
“Isabell?” Carmel call her out again, but she did not budge from her from position. “You will say your apology or perhaps you want to say goodbye?”
As those words leave Carmel’s mouth, Isabell once again stiffened. She knew what she meant by those words.
And she’s annoyed to the fact where that woman knew where to rubbed her off. If she did not obey her, she knew that her partner will never let her have any pudding for a month, she knew because she’s been through that hellish punishment.
Begrudgingly she obeyed her, standing up with her back still facing them. For a few moments of Isabell not moving, Jack looked back and fort between the taller woman beside her and the shorter woman from a distance.
The older man was taken a back when Isabell finally faces them, though her lips are curved in a smile her eyes shows defiance. “I’ve never seen that face in my entire life.” He mumbled.
“Well, get use to it. She’ll be showing that side of hers until her hands did not get what she wanted.” Carmel said with an apologetic smile.
With her words, Jack looked down with a frown. He knew that sooner or later they have to know what they should know.
“Sorry.” The words from Isabell who made Jack’s train of thoughts stop, “I shouldn’t have barge in to your room just for a petty reason.” She said.
With a genuine smile, Jack answered softly, “me too, I should have said you all about it.”
“See! He should have told us!” Isabell said stubbornly as if she’s saying that he’s wrong and she’s right.
But the protruding veins on the forehead of Carmel signifies that anger that’s wanting to be released, and so by being said, she pinched Isabell’s cheek hard.
