Love is just Illusion by Swapie Achilles
CHAPTER IX
MAY
“Hey buddy! I’m going out for a while, ‘kay?” Chris said with a small laugh as his bundle of joy jumps up and down excitedly. “Come on, you’re going to ruin daddy’s attire if you keep on doing that.”
With a bark of seems to be and approval, Ben finally stops jumping on to his owner. He wears something nice that would surely emphasize his well-toned built body but at the same time decent to the eyes.
He uses a small spray of cologne that matches his attitude, and some gel for his hair to stay fixed at all cost. He’s been readying himself until this very day where he can finally see the only veterinarian his eyes will be fixated on.
“This is going to be a long day, bud. Hope this day turns out well.” He muttered lowly with a hopeful smile on his lips. “Okay, see you later Ben.” He kissed his forehead before saying goodbye to his best friend to which the wingless angel bark as if saying his good luck.
With a smile, he walks towards the newly open café that Mori and him promised to see each other. And when he finally arrived, he opens the door and as it chimes the sweet smell of baked goods seduce his taste buds but when he saw the time on the clock hanging on the wall, he saw that he’s too early.
“Maybe I’m just so excited.” He muttered with a nervous yet happy smile, “I’ll just wait for him before we order.”
“Ah!” The young veterinarian yelled on top of his lungs when his aunt pulled the sheets that serves as cover between the cold morning wind and from his petite stature, “Aunt Isabell! What are-”
“Rise and shine, my little Mori! We have a long day, so get up and get dress!” She beamed while Carmel only stood at the door watching the scene unfold in front of her with a happy yet concerned smile.
“It is too early~” He whined and snatched the comforter from her hands and enveloped himself with it.
His aunt furrowed her eyebrows and pout, “we have not showed you the whole hacienda and the workers here are eager to meet you- the heir of these farm.”
Mori lifted the small part of his thick blanket and peeked, as he saw how stubborn his aunt is with her hands on her hips, he concluded that they won’t go away anytime soon as long as he doesn’t get up.
With a sigh he lazily sits up from the comfort of his fluffy bed, “fine.”
“Want me to help you get dress?” His aunt gave him a sweet smile and a generous offer.
But as an adult he is, he instantly denied the offer, “I can do it myself, thanks aunt.” He commented.
“Oho~ our Mori is now all grown up.” She faked cry to which the younger man in front of her made a low chuckle.
Mori is done with his morning routine, and now he is walking side by side with his aunt while Carmel silently trod behind them. He has been walking through the vast corridor of this manor for days and yet he can’t get enough of the beautiful painting his grandmother painted.
The colors made the artwork so alive, so mesmerizing, so eye catching, and so breath taking. The beauty of nature itself was perfectly captured by the arts of his grandma.
“So beautiful.” He unconsciously muttered. To which Isabell chuckles at his reaction. “What’s funny?” He asked.
“Nothing,” she said still holding her laughter. “I just remember that was the same thing you said when you first saw the paintings and yet after all those days we have been here, you…” She did not finish what she has been saying because she’ interrupted by her own chuckles.
Mori puff his reddening cheeks and said, “I can’t help it you know, my eyes can get used to this.” But soon his reaction changes into a genuine closed-eyed smile, “they are so freaking beautiful.”
“Yes, they really are.” Isabell lowly muttered with a contented smile.
“Miss Isabell, Miss Carmel, lord Mori, this is Lance Gilbert Packle. He will tour you around the whole hacienda. Ask him anything you want.” Jack said as he introduces the same man who was with them when they were finding Mori.
“Hello there.” Lance said with a smile as he pulled his hat down and slightly bow as a sign of respect.
Isabell narrowed her eyes as she closely looked at the man, ‘this man has the answer.’ She thought to herself.
“Hello, mister.” Mori politely returned the greetings and thanked him, “thank you for your help finding me.”
“You can just call me Lance,” he said to the young lord before bowing. “And don’t worry about that. We are always here to serve you.”
Mori panicked a bit when he saw that Lance is bowing a lot on their presence, “please refrain from bowing us too much. We are all humans here, you know.” He lightly laughed at his own little joke.
But the two older women hold their mouth because of Mori’s awkward joke.
“Lame.” Isabell said between stifled laugh behind her hand.
“We can’t do that lord Mori, we are just servants and you are our master.” The newly introduced man stood his ground.
And the soft-hearted Mori said that, “then as your lord, I command you to not bow in front of us anymore and treat us like your comrades and as an equal.” He said as he tried to stand straight and put his hands on his hips trying to be someone dignified.
With his attempt to change the rules of the house Carmel and Isabell broke again into fit of laughter, they are holding their stomach because of the ache from laughing too much. While Jack only stood there with an apologetic smile.
The man named Lance was first taken aback from what he heard, his late master- Lady Sapphire is kind enough and her kindness was inherited by this man, he puts on his hat and said,
“as you wish, Mori.”
