Love is just Illusion by Swapie Achilles CHAPTER IV   The lightning produces light that brought a wolf-like silhouette from the shadows of leave less tree on the glass door of his balcony. The sight brought him extreme terror which resulted him to scream. “Mori! Mori!” Isabell called his name repeatedly before hastily opening the door. “What happened?!” Isabell asked the man, but his petite crying form can’t do anything but to sob. When he saw Isabell, he quickly threw his comforter and run towards her. But the linen got a grip on his ankle making him stumble on the carpeted ground of his bedroom. But he forced himself to crawl towards Isabell. The lady saw his eagerness to go to her, so she runs towards him and hug him tight. His little body is shaking and his sweat is cold. He heaves for air as hugged her tight. Tears falls freely from his eyes due to extreme terror. She inhaled and gently said to him as she kissed his head, “Mori, I’m here. Don’t be scared.” But Mori can’t speak and is still shaking so she decided to do what she’s always doing when Carmel is in panic attack. She gently rubs his hair and sang the same lullaby their grandma always sings to them. “Dear sweetheart, no need to cry. Because I’m here and I’ll hold you tight.” She sang the first sentence and she can feel Mori’s trembling form is easing. “So, sleep and let go of all your worries. Don’t be scared, because I’m here and I’ll protect you.” She looked at the man in her arms. Breathing heavily. “I’ll keep you safe and I’ll promise to love you every second of my life, so don’t be afraid to reach your hands in the light.” She sang this part and Mori stops shaking. “Don’t be afraid to take your future and make it shine. And I’ll be here waiting for you.” As the lullaby ended, Mori peacefully fall asleep in her arms. Isabell picked him up and carried him to his bed. She laid him down and cover him with comforters. But before she walked away, she gives him a peck on his forehead. Looking at the sleeping figure of the man, the curtain of the bedroom door that leads to balcony is widely open. She walked towards it to close the curtains, but what she saw leave her confused. Sets of huge paw footprints of an animal is in the balcony. “What the hell is this?” Isabell said in whispered.   The morning has come and Mori woke up from his sleep. Even though he just woke up, he felt like he hasn’t gotten any wink of rest the whole night. He pulled his arm and put it on his aching eyes to shield from the sunlight that’s peering from the window. He forced himself to get up albeit his body is screaming for rest. As his feet step on the floor the same sight before he woke in the middle of the night flash again from his memory. The huge wolf that seems like he wants to devour him. “What was that?” He muttered before looking at the closed mirror wall of his bedroom from his shoulder.   “Are you sure you’re fine, Mori?” Carmel asked as she and the petite man beside her walk through the vast farm of his grandmother. Mori only replied with a quick nod. He thanked the heavens because Carmel did not oblige him to answer her question due to the fact that he felt restless. “Isabell told me what happened.” She muttered. “It may be a dream, and it only happened inside our minds, but the exhaustion it brought is real as hell.” The veterinarian stops from their tracks, looking at the flowing water beside where they are currently standing. As the wind blows and dance with their hair, he pulled his hands up and rub his arms. The wind was nice but it feels like it’s biting him. “Maybe you’re right. Maybe I should get some rest.” He finally admitted. “Sure thing, kid. Isabell and I can handle this for a day. And the workers can wait to see their knew head.” Carmel said to him with a soft smile on her plump lips. “Go ahead, we got this.” With the reassurance of the female, Mori decided that he can trust the woman. Even though they barely known each other, he felt that he can depend on her like how he depends on her aunt. “Thank you, Carmel. I really owe you.” He smiled cheerfully at him but his eyes scream tiredness. To which didn’t go unnoticed by his female companion. “I know, I know. Now go on along.” She shooed him back to the mansion. “Do you think you can walk on your own?” Isabell’s fiancée asked. Mori let out a short chortle when he heard her. “Of course, I can. What do you think of me? An infant?” With his retort, Carmel playfully pout and said, “thank you for trampling my sincerity.”   Mori did what Carmel told him; to take a rest. But the beauty of the surrounding took away all his exhaustion from last night. From where he’s standing, he can see from the distance, a river. It was so clean that he can even see that depths of it. And it seems cool to touch. So, he decided to take a rest from a nearby rock and took of his boots. He closed his eyes and breath in the fresh breeze of nature. “How refreshing.” He mumbled to himself as he exhaled and open his eyes. “Much more relaxing than the city. I wish this peacefulness can last forever. He then proceeded to lie down above on the cold yet comfortable flat rock he is on. And without hesitation he finally let himself devoured by the tranquility.   “Mori!” Isabell shouted from the corridor towards the said man’s room. “It’s dinner already, you should get up and eat. You haven’t eaten anything since lunch.” The said female stood outside his room. Waiting for him to open it and come out. When she jiggles the doorknob, she found that it was unlock, and so, she proceeded to take a peak inside his nephew’s room.
