Chapter 10: Rekindled Flame
Obinna's eyes locked onto Amara's, the dim warehouse lighting unable to dim the spark between them.
"Amara, I've missed you," Obinna whispered, his voice trembling.
Amara's gaze softened. "I've missed you too, Obinna."
Without another word, they embraced, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss. The world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them.
As they pulled back, Amara's eyes shone with tears.
"I'm sorry I left," she said. "I couldn't bear the thought of losing you to the empire."
Obinna's fingers traced her face. "You never lost me, Amara. My heart always belonged to you."
Their love, once forced apart by family obligations, now burned brighter than ever.
"I have evidence against the empire," Amara revealed. "But we need more."
Obinna's determination hardened. "Together, we'll bring them down."
As they held each other, footsteps echoed outside, growing louder.
"Augusta's men," Obinna whispered. "We must leave."
Hand in hand, they escaped into the night, their love and resolve fueling their fight against the empire.
But as they vanished into the shadows, a figure watched from the darkness.
"You think love will save you?" Augusta's voice dripped with venom. "I'll crush you both."
