Alexis POV.

I woke up to my alarm blaring loudly. I had a very busy day today. I had got work this morning till about 4, I was in the the preschool room to start with and then after school clubs, from 2pm. That was when the girls were finished with their schoolwork. I was supposed to be in the older kids' room mostly but after a run in with Lisa, Kim put me in the preschool room and baby room. I had locked up the baby room last night, for the first time.

I had been working in the nursery for a few weeks now. I was due to go and have my pot taken off after my shift today. I looked down at my multi-coloured arm. The girls had completely covered it in bright markers, the other kids helped them too. It looked rather funky if I am honest. Some of the kids were scared of it to start with but after a few days they thought it was amazing.

I slid out of bed and walked over to my draws. I had a shower last night so was ok this morning. I couldn’t wait to get my pot off so I could shower properly. That was the one down side to my pot. I was a little worried that the nurses would be angry with me for how it looked but there was nothing I could do now.

I got dressed and brushed my hair back into a tight ponytail. It had developed quite a nice shine on it since coming here. I looked into the mirror and smiled. I had began to actually look much healthier.

I grabbed my bag from the top of my draws and headed for the door. I needed to be at work earlier today as I needed to set up, before the kids came in. It was my first time. I jogged down the stairs steadily. I passed a few of the warriors as I went down them. I got a few strange looks, but I paid no attention to them, and just carried on jogging down the stairs.

I rounded the bottom of the staircase and headed straight for the kitchen. I had to pass the kitchen in order to get to the nursery. As I approached the nursery, I began to slow down a little, if Kim caught me jogging or running, she would not be happy, it was her main rule. I pushed open the doors to the nursery and went to flick the light on. I should have been the first in here. It was already on.

I looked around the place cautiously. Then I heard someone mumbling in the baby room.

“I knew I couldn’t trust her to remember everything yet. I should have stayed behind” I heard a voice. It was Kim’s voice.

“Kim is that you?” I asked as I headed for the baby room. I walked into c*****e. The baby room looked ransacked. There were dirty nappies and clothes laying all over the changing rooms. There toys were all strewn around the room. Books were everywhere too. This is not how it looked when I left last night.

I had put everything away and cleared all the nappies away. I had even disinfected the entire room. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. My eyes landed on Kim. She was furious, I could tell.

“Kim, this is not how it looked last night. I had cleared the entire room I swear.” I tried to explain. I began to walk towards the changing room, and I would clear that out.

“The door was unlocked, and this is what I found. You were supposed to do it all for me. I trusted you, Alexis. Now on top of all the paperwork today I have to clear this place up. I am not happy at all.” She said sternly. She hadn’t even listened to me. “Don’t bother with excuses either. I guess you are not ready for the responsibility yet. Once you have cleaned there you can go out into the school club room. You will be in there today instead of helping out in here.” She said rather coldly.

“Yes mam.” Is all I replied, there is no point trying to argue with Kim. She was in a really bad mood and wouldn’t listen at all. Maybe I could talk to her later when she is in a better mood.

I put my head down and began to collect all the dirty nappies and tossed them into the bin. I grabbed the disinfectant spray and a cloth, I wiped down all the changing stations and changing mats.

Once I had finished that I grabbed the rubbish bin and took it out to the big bin outside. There was a door that led out from the afterschool room. The bins were in a danced in area about 30 ft from the door. I threw the rubbish bag into the bin and turned back around towards the door. I had my head down thinking.

“I know I did it all last night. I did all this and locked the door. I am sure I did.” I said to myself as I walked back towards the door that led into the rooms. I walked through it and back into the baby room. Kim had gone to the reception desk now. She never even looked at me. I took the bin back into the changing room and replaced the bag. Then I gave it a wipe down with the disinfectant.

Once I had finished, I walked out the baby room. I was about to tell Kim I was done; however, she was talking to a mum of a young pup and filling in paperwork with her. She gave me a stern look and then looked back down at the papers she was writing on.

I turned and headed towards the after-school room. As I walked through the door, I could tell it hadn’t been cleaned yet. There were already some kids in the gaming area, playing on the consoles. They were laughing loudly. I looked at the gym area, there was towels strewn around the floor and it needed mopping. I started there and collected up the towels. This was supposed to be Lisa’s job, but I was here earlier than she was. She never came in till after breakfast.

She must spend ages on her makeup before coming in as it looked like she put it on with a trowel. It was done nicely but there was way too much for her. Hopefully I could have everything cleaned up and stay out her way when she gets here. I had noticed that she had started to hang with the alpha's son quite a lot lately. Although he was only in here occasionally, he spent most of his time training with James. They were always polite with me and never said anything bad to me, but Lisa would give me evil eyes if she saw me even look in his direction. I normally just got on with my jobs and stayed as far away as I could.

It took me about 50 minutes to get the gym area all finished. I stood and looked at it proud that I had finished it so quickly. That’s when I heard the doors go, making me look in that direction. To my horror it was Lisa. She was here early. I rapidly walked towards the library area and tried to hide. I didn’t want to run in with her at all, I knew I would at some point but hopefully later on, not now. I heard her moaning.

“I can’t believe my stupid parents have made me get up this early. I mean I am not even ready. I need to put more makeup on. They wouldn’t let me do it in the house.” She was moaning.

“Yeah I mean why do we need to start work this early?” One of the girls with her said.

“Well, I refuse to do anything until after breakfast!” She said coldly.

“Oh god!” I thought to myself “Today was going to be a long day.” I added. I began to organise the books in the library area and clear the tables. I could still hear Lisa and her pack of friends moaning. They hadn’t done anything except moan actually. I had finished the library and was just trying to avoid being seen. I managed to look at the clock behind them in the kitchen area, 7:25. It would be 5 or 10 minutes till breakfast. Hopefully they would go then. I waited around hidden in the library till they left. It was about 15 minutes mind you. I was getting rather board.

Once they left, I contemplated going for breakfast myself however I thought I would miss it. There would be some snacks in the kitchen area here. Even if it was only biscuits. I could have a cup of coffee too. Kim had introduced me to it after I started in the nursery, and I must say it was addictive.

I walked out from the book area and headed for the kitchen area, as I approached the tables I saw a bag on the table, I walked right up to it, thinking it looked familiar. Just as I was grabbing it to take to Kim the the door opened, Lisa was stood there and the smile on her face dropped.

“GET OFF MY BAG YOU THIEF!!!” She screamed.
