Chapter 2

537 Words
Chase POV I wanted to punch Travis in his face. He was really getting on my nerves talking about Lacy, my ex-girlfriend. H was talking about how he asked her out and she said yes. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t care that she said yes. Do you want to know why I don’t care? Of course, you do. You see, we had dated for about two months when I walked in on her having s*x with a random dude at a party. She kept riding him as she looked at me and smiled. I sighed trying not to punch him. I was staring at my French fries when I heard the most annoying voice break the sound barrier. “Hi Travis! I’m really looking forward to our date tomorrow!” Lacy said. I looked up at her and saw that she was staring right at me when she said it. She had that stupid smirk on her face. What a b***h. She squeezed in so that she could sit beside Travis. I really did not want to look at her stupid face, so I started to scan the lunchroom. My eyes landed upon a pretty girl with black hair and green eyes. I’ve never seen her before. She must be new. She was in the middle of eating her sandwich when she looked at me. Our eyes locked and I smiled at her. She immediately smiled back. I saw that she was sitting with Nichole and Macie. Good, those girls are a good influence. I would hate for her to fall into the wrong crowd. I saw Nichole turn and look at me. She gave me a huge grin and turned back toward the new girl. The bell rang and the girl looked back at me. I smiled at her and gave her a wave. She waved back and went to gather her things. I grabbed my stuff and as I looked up, I noticed that Damien was watching her intently. s**t. I grabbed my stuff and left to go to class. I walked into calculus and took my seat. I pulled out my phone and was scrolling through my social media. Nothing interesting. I put my phone away and looked up just in time to see the new girl walk in. She looked around for an empty chair. Luckily, there was one right beside me. She saw it and smiled at me when she sat down. I turned toward her. “Hi. I’m Chase.” “Hey, I’m Shaylee.” “Nice to meet you Shaylee. Is today you’re first day?” I asked already knowing the answer. Way to go i***t. I mentally facepalmed myself. “Yeah. I just moved here from California.” She smiled that beautiful smile. I opened my mouth to ask her another question, but the teacher walked in hushing everyone. Great timing Mr. Walsh I thought as I rolled my eyes. The class seemed to drag on and I was bored. I kept glancing at Shaylee. She was so cute when she focused on what Mr. Walsh was saying. The bell finally rang, and I packed up my stuff. I wanted to talk to Shaylee, but she was already gone when I looked up from my bag.
