Chapter Fourteen: Fever

On a Monday morning, Serapina didn't wake up since she's still sleepy and not feeling well. But, she knows she can't be absent since today they have a recitation quiz about their previous topics in English. So that, she decided to get up in her bed then Serapina feels that her surrounding was shaking. Even though Serapina is not feeling well she decided to take a bath since she felt dirty. After finishing her bath, Serapina prepared herself to go to school. Since she didn't have an appetite she chose to skip her breakfast and leave their house. Serapina knows why she was not feeling well maybe because her body is not strong enough. She's also thankful since Gabriel was safe from danger and that's why Serapina can't help but feel happy because she saves him. Minutes have passed when Serapina arrived at her school and as usual, some students still looking at her with disgust on their faces.

"Look, she's here!"

"Did you know, that Gabriel celebrated his birthday with her?"

"I can't believe it! She has the guts to approach him!"

Instead of looking in the direction of the girls who were talking about her, Serapina chose to ignore them since she doesn't want any trouble with her school. Aside from that, Serapina felt dizzy all of a sudden that's why she walks slowly so that she can't lose her balance. Serapina was walking in the hallway when someone taps her shoulder. Then she looks for that person who taps her shoulder and a sweet smile plastered on her lips because of the person in front of her.

"Good morning, Serapina," Billy said while smiling.

"Good morning too, Billy."

"Are you okay, Serapina? You look pale? Is it because of what happened on Gabriel's birthday?" Billy asks with concern.

Serapina smile at Billy before answering him. "Don't worry about me. I'm just exhausted that's why I'm looking pale."

"You sure? Just tell me if you're not feeling well."

"I'm sure, Billy. Thank you for your concern, Billy."

After that, they arrived in their classroom. In a blink of an eye, the sweet smile plastered on Serapina's lips again when she saw Gabriel looking at her then he looks at Billy. Suddenly, Serapina felt confused since she saw the expression written on Gabriel's face. With that, she can't help but feel confused since Gabriel looks irritated while looking at Billy. So that, Serapina walks in Gabriel's direction to greet him a good morning while her smile is still plastered on her lips.

"Good morning, Gabriel," Serapina said then kissed Gabriel's left cheek. "Is it something wrong, Gabriel?" Serapina asks Gabriel.

Serapina creases her eyebrows when she saw the shock on the face of her classmates. With that, Serapina feels confused again because of the looks of her classmates. It feels like they saw something unbelievable scenario. Instead of noticing them, Serapina shrugged her shoulder before looking at Gabriel, again.

"Good morning too, Serapina. Don't worry about me, I'm okay," Gabriel said while smiling at her.

Instead of answering him, she smiled at Gabriel then she goes to her sit. Even though her classmate is looking at her especially the girls she chose to ignore them. She smiles again when she saw her best friend, Amor with a wide eye while looking at her. When Serapina was in front of her best friend, Amor, she feels like she did something wrong causing her to feel confused.

"Serapina, are you and Gabriel are dating?" Amor asks seriously.

Serapina creases her eyebrows because of what she heard from Amor. "Nope. We're not dating. Why did you ask, Amor?"

Amor took a deep breath before answering her best friend, Serapina. "Then, why did you kissed him?"

"Is it wrong to kiss him? I did that because I want to kiss his soft cheek."

"Wait, how did you know that his cheek was soft?"

"Oh! I just kissed him on his birthday!" Serapina said to Amor.

All of a sudden, Amor shocked was because of what she heard from Serapina. Aside from that, she saw how her girl classmates look at Serapina with envy written in their eyes. Even though Amor knew that Serapina and Gabriel are just friends, she can't help but feel scared about her best friend, safety.

"It means you both of you celebrated his birthday?" Amor asks Serapina, again.

"Yes, we celebrated it but together with his family, friends, and his cousin, Stacey."

Amor was going to ask again when she saw that their teacher enter their classroom. Amor was a little bit confused when she saw a foreign girl together with their professor, Mr. Montante.

"Good morning, everyone. Starting today, all of you have a new classmate. Miss, introduce yourself to them."

"Hello, everyone. I hope we all be friends. By the way, I'm Stacey Hudson, gorgeous cousin of Gabriel," Stacey said while smiling.

After that, she waves in Serapina's direction causing them to get confused. With that, Serapina wave also while a sweet smile is plastered on her lips. Then, Stacey sat on an empty chair near the window while still smiling at her new classmates. In a middle of a discussion with Mr. Montante, Serapina felt that her surrounding is spinning causing her to feel dizzy. With that, she stands since she wants to excuse herself from the class, but, Serapina felt that little by little her surrounding gulfs in darkness. All of a sudden, Gabriel stands up fastly to catch the unconscious Serapina. When Gabriel touches her forehead he creases his eyebrows because Serapina is having a fever. With that, Gabriel didn't waste time and carry Serapina to go to the clinic.

"Sir, can I bring her now to the clinic?" Gabriel asks Mr. Montante with respect.

"Okay, just bring her to the clinic."

"Thank you, Sir."

Even though Gabriel noticed that his classmates are looking at him, he chose to ignore them since he's worried about Serapina. He also can't deny the fact that he's one of the reasons why Serapina is having a fever. After a minute, Gabriel arrives at the clinic while still carrying the unconscious Serapina.

"Excuse me, Miss, are you the nurse here?"

"Yes, Sir. What happened to her?"

"She collapsed in the middle of our class."

After that, the nurse checks the body of Serapina while Gabriel was still worried about her. Gabriel was shocked when the nurse is opening the button of the uniform of Serapina. With that, Gabriel turns his back at them since he respected her.

"Excuse me, Sir, do you have spare clothes?"

"Yes. Why?" Gabriel asks while creases his eyebrows.

"We need to change her clothes since she's covered with sweat," the girl nurse explained to Gabriel.

"I have spare clothes. Just wait for me here, I will take it from my car. And make sure, she's safe when I'm gone," Gabriel said seriously.

Instead of answering him, the nurse just nods her head before continuing what she's doing. Since the nurse is a little bit scared of Gabriel she wipes the sweat of Serapina slowly like an important gem. Minutes have passed when Gabriel showed up in the clinic while his holding his spare clothes and a short.

"Here! Change her clothes now. Just call me if you're finishing changing her clothes."

The nurse nods her head then started to change Serapina clothes into comfortable ones. When the nurse is finished changing Serapina's clothes she called Gabriel who is now busy talking with his friends.

"Sir, I'm finished changing her clothes," the nurse said to Gabriel.

"Okay, Miss. Thank you for your hard work."

So that, Gabriel didn't waste time and look for Serapina who was now still sleeping. While Billy and Derick are grinning in front of him.

"Are both of you teasing me, again?"

"Tell me, dude, are you her boyfriend?" Billy asks while grinning at Gabriel.

In a blink of an eye, Gabriel is red like a tomato because of what he heard. Instead of answering his friend he chose to keep silent while looking at Serapina.

"How I wish, I'm her boyfriend," Gabriel said to his mind.

"Gabriel, Serapina was going to melt because of your stare," Stacey said who suddenly showed up in the clinic.

"Wait, the three of you, what are you doing here?" Gabriel asks in confusion.

Stacey laughs softly before answering her cousin. "We don't have classes now, I don't why since they have an important meeting now.

"E-Excuse, I brought here her things," Amor said shyly.

"Oh, thanks, Amor. Come here, you can sit beside your best friend," Gabriel said to Amor.

Even though Amor was shy in front of them she chose to sit beside Serapina. The fact is, Amor didn't know what to do since she's still shy to Gabriel and his friends. So that, Amor chose to keep silent until Serapina opens her eyes.
