Her feet walked a bit nervously- no actually, very nervously. She sensed drops of sweat forming on her backbone and she cursed. She hated the feeling she was getting. She drew her eyes to the address again. Noticing that she has really mixed things up and right now, finding the solution looked very hard considering the place she had wandered off to. "The address was so similar", she remarked looking at the piece of paper in her hands. She sighed remembering why she had flown all the way down to New Orleans. She hated her dad, she hated that she did cry for that brutal scientist on his death bed. She hated that she even promised to help him do this, in the first place. She cursed again running her hands Into her golden brown hair, her eyes flickered due to the sensation she got from this scary place. She looked around seeing a bunch of guys dressed in black clothing. They were literarily scattered everywhere and she tried her best not to draw any attention to herself as she silently sought the way out of this maze. A hopeful glint appeared in her eyes as she noticed a guy sitting alone on a bench far away from the other people. Her eyes lingered on him for some time- he was also in black-black, his emerald eyes had their focus on space and she wondered what exactly was on his mind. His build was a bit scary, and she didn't need him to stand beside her, she just knew he was tall enough to tower over her. He gave her a dark feeling, as his emerald eyes were somewhat darkened. It gave the feeling as though if he stared too much at a thing the thing could collapse out rightly but then- His posture was relaxed, his hands dipped loosely into his pockets, and his lips were pink and enticing. Though, it was firm never once moving upwards If April was to judge, he didn't look too bad and he seemed to be her only shot of getting out of here. Plus, he was alone. She couldn't possibly go into the middle of those scary gangs. she would have to make do with the best bad option. Not to add, how handsome he really looked. She approached him, trying her best not to trip on herself. The guy had already turned his gaze to her, noticing her presence. When she got to his front, she smiled. Her two deep dimples surfaced. " hi, please I need a little direction. I kind of lost my way", she uttered praying that he didn't just shove her away or worse, hit her. The guy was quiet, his emerald eyes looking her over, it lingered on her cleavage which was surfacing a bit through her white-colored shirt and she cursed, mentally smacking herself for not buttoning it fully. Though, she didn't attempt to adjust it. It then finally landed on her face, he stared at her for a while before casting his gaze at the random trees around them. When April saw that no reply was forthcoming she spoke again. "Pls can you give me a little direction. I'm heading to this address", she said passing him the piece of paper in her hands. Her hands were left hanging for a while before he snatched them out of her hands. When his emerald eyes landed on it, a look of surprise and anger settled on his face and he raised his eye to scan her again. " where did you get this from?", he uttered and she shivered from just the sound of his voice. It was deep, dark, deadly, and... Sexy? She kept mute and he seemed to hate her silence. "Fuckin' answer my question", he growled casting a very dangerous glare her way. April blinked, her eyes falling to his hands which were now folded in a fist. " f**k, he must be pissed", she thought as she wondered why. Idiot...he just asked her a question. Of cause he would be pissed, she thought as she rubbed her hands on her clothes, as it was getting sweaty from fright. "Oh!.. From my father. He said that, that was the address of his very good long-time friend. He wrote it on his death bed", she answered her chest getting a little bit stiff due to fear. His eyes rose to her gazing at her in surprise. It went a bit wide, as he looked at her for like the fifth time. "So Granny wasn't kidding. I told her I don't need no one around me", he said with gritted teeth, his eyes still running over her as though, she would disappear and he would be told it was all a prank but when she kept standing Infront of him. He got up signaling for her to follow him. "What just happened now, what was he talking about? why did he make her feel so confused?", she wondered as she slowly trailed behind him. She was still deep in thought when her feet knocked something causing her to trip and soon she was sent falling. A scream left her mouth and the guy turned back to see what happened. He caught her instantly, preventing her from colliding with the ground. His hands wrapped around her waist, drawing her closer to his rock chest, and April gradually opened her eyes. She flashed her smile at the guy, surfacing her two dimples, " thank you so much. I thought I'll have to deal with leg pain for at least a whole week", she uttered her breath tinkling on the guy's skin due to their proximity. The guy swallowed, his chest rising and falling. His eyes landed on her pink lips which looked very seducing when it was spread into that her angelic smile. Her dimples-, he swallowed again, quickly dropping her down. What was wrong with him? he thought as he passed his hands into his pocket. His eyes fixed on her in a cold look, "stop smiling", he uttered and April paused her lips staring at him in confusion. "why was he shouting at her now? What has she done?", she wondered His eyes fell on her lips again which were currently in a paused form, and he could fill his heart skip a bit. "Goddamnit", he cursed. Clenching his fist. "stop it- It's driving me nuts", he said creating a meaningful distance between them. April raised her eyebrows in confusion. Stop what? What was he talking about? Why did he always make her confused? she thought as she quietly trailed behind his scary figure. *** April was surprised to see that he was even nice enough to drive her down to the house. She had thought that he was only going to give her further direction but what she found funny and very confusing was that he was also walking towards the house. " I think I can take it from here", she said casting him a grateful gaze and he chuckled, passing her his cold gaze. "Don't flatter yourself, honey?", he mustered in a smirk before he continued to walk down into the building. April was stunned for a while, as she blinked watching him push open the front door. Did he just make mock her? If he did, then why did it feel so good? she wondered as she pressed her hands to her heart. Feeling it flutters. "Was it because he called her honey?", she wondered as she walked slowly into the house. When she got into the house she saw granny Steph, waiting for her in the sitting room. She rushed over to her, engulfing her in a very long hug and granny returned it. Holding her on the face. " How have you been, April?" She smiled casting granny her perfect dimples and granny beamed, "you're just as cute as you were 14yrs ago" "Granny, I've missed you so much", April said pouting at her and granny smiled drawing her in for another big. After their little cute reunion, April went further into the main reason why she had driven down to New Orleans. " where is Houston? I want to see him", April said looking around and granny laughed at her dramatic behavior. "He is right here. You're looking at him already", granny uttered and April's eyes widened as they slowly fell to the guy she spent a whole ride with. " you're Houston?", April mouthed in surprise and he folded his arms, narrowing his eyes at her. "You care to explain how you know granny? And what you have come here for?", he finally said aiming his emerald eyes at her and she shivered. Her heart shivered, her body trembled, and her mind was blacking out. "He really knew how to give people the chills", she muttered underneath her breath.
