The small figure was watching me and I squinted, trying to make something out of the breathing structure. It was a child, possibly the cutest child ever.
“Hey,” he said and smiled. “Hi, are you lost?” I asked. I knew Van was the only child so it was strange seeing a child in here. “No, I’m Nessa’s brother,” he replied confidently and I was sensing pride.
“That’s what mum told me to tell anyone that asks me” he added, rather confidently. I smiled and said, “That’s good”. “What’s your name?” I asked. “Mason, but you can call me Mace and I’m seven”. I couldn’t help but wonder how he speaks so well for a seven-year-old. I was impressed.
