meeting the Emeralds

finally, the day has come for me to move into my apartment, I saw on Jade's community that the apartment is one of the top accommodations in Jade, and it is even so much of a big deal because this is the first time the Emerald building is open for undergraduate accommodation and so Manny people that got the information earlier wanted this house, they just wanted to secure this particular apartment so badly coupled with the whole renovation done to it.

don't get me wrong it's not like Jade doesn't have private hostels for people who wish to live alone, they do but its majorly for finalists and this apartment is a full package, and it is just so funny seeing different posts of people lobbying for the apartment that I just got on a plater of gold......well let's add a little bit of stress to the list.

I wake up early in the money as usual and I start arranging all my stuff together so that moving into the Emerald building won't take time. The Emerald house is located at the far end of the girl's dormitory, an array of skyscrapers but unlike the girl's dormitory, it is a duplex with an imposing edifice on the outside, the lawn of the building is properly mowed, and it is a white building with touches of ash at strategic points. I swipe my card on the door and make my way inside the building.

The interior of this building is in no way inferior to its outer appearance, the sitting room's interior decoration is properly selected, there are blends of different shades of ash coming together in harmony to complement each other. The lounge has a sectional white sofa that rests on a fluffy ash Arabian rug, chalk white ceiling, a transparent glass table centralized in the middle of the lounge, a rollable O LED TV showcasing technology at its peak......... which projects itself in lit subpixels projects with breathtakingly realistic images of nature.

I stop drooling at the apartment when a tall slim girl with olive skin tone walks into the lounge, her rich almond eyes and deep-set dimples are strikingly noticeable features of her face, her blonde hair is pilled inside a bonnet with streaks falling by the sides, she has a lavender apron on with a cupcake design on top......hmmm, looks like someone is baking.

she pauses for a while and it dawns on both of us that we met the previous day at the senate building

"Hey.....Aurora" she calls out to me surprised

"wow, Ari"

"What are you doing here" I question

okay, that's a dumb question to ask, you see someone in a house this relaxed baking and the only thing that comes to your mind to ask her is what she is doing here

who does that?

well, Aurora does

"I moved in here yesterday afternoon....am an Emerald," she says smiling

"wow......am also an Emerald so that means we are housemates"I squealed

am genuinely thrilled because I didn't expect to meet her again this soon after parting with her yesterday at the senate building....she made quite a nice first impression on me and I think she is likable.

Something dings I guess the oven alarm

"Oops, I need to go now....but you can tour the house and get comfortable," Ari says and hurries to the kitchen

I got into the house and was mesmerized by the beauty that I completely forgot about the Uber driver outside with my stuff so I quickly dashed out of the building to attend to him

"am sorry to have kept you waiting" I apologized to the Uber driver

"It's fine ma'am I am at your service" he replied without any hint of frustration his voice

This man has been patient with me throughout the time he has been working for me.....not so many people can do that and for once he has not asked for payment...since our cooperation started

"so about your recent payment, can I get your company's account details or your account if that's what you prefer, with my bills so that I can make the payment".I ask

okay....so even if jade took care of the earlier payment, am sure they didn't take care of the present one and since today is the last time he will be working for me, the earlier I settle the payment the better for him

"Everything has been taken care of by my young master so ma'am you don't owe me anything" he answers

young master!!!! how did a young master know nothing about settling my bills??? I have not interacted with so many people in silver city ever since I got here......I just really hope it's not that creep because he looks like a spoilt rich kid

"sorry please may I ask how your young master knows me or better still who he is perhaps a picture or something", I asked confused

"am sorry ma'am but I have given out more information than I should have and my young master won't like that"he replies apologetically

"Okay..."I replied awkwardly still unsatisfied with the answer he gives me an apologetic look before he starts to take my bag to the main entrance of the house leaving me at the parking lot trying to think of the people that I have actually met and has the possibility of being the young master.

There is no way the young master can be the valet.....what a dumb thing to think about,if he is a young master,why will he work as a valet??? why the hell will he be at my service??......but the valet is the only person I talked to one on one,he even looked the uber driver up online for me

its a pity I don't have the valets number or better still let's put in this way,he didn't ask for my number......well if he did,that would have been quite unprofessional of him because its not everybody that you help that you maintain a talking relationship with right??.But seriously now assuming I shamelessly asked for his number, am sure he will know something about the young master and I would have gotten that information from him

"ma'am please can you swipe your card so that I can take your bags inside for you.....that's if you don't mind"the driver calls out to me from the main entrance drawing me out of my thoughts

I go to main entrance and swipe my card so that the driver can drop my stuffs where it will be easier to take in for me.....the smell of chocolate and vanilla wafts its way into my nostrils and I turn back to see Ari with chocolate cake and vanilla frosting in her hands.

"If there is nothing else I can do for you, I will like to take my leave Now"the driver speaks distracting me from dreamily looking at the cake......sorry,that's just me for you ,when it comes to cake I lose my manners.

"yes you can go thank you soo much for your service I really appreciate it.......say thank you to your young master for me"I replied like clearing my throat like someone caught in an act

The driver bows and gets going leaving me staring at the work of art in front of me

"wow!!!!! Ari you are so good at this"I marveled the cake, it looks like it is made by a professional"I say marveling at her hand work

"I just thought of making a little something to welcome the other Emeralds since am the first occupant and am done settling in"

she replies scratching the nape of her neck,looks like she is nervous

"awwnnn that's so thoughtful of you"I replied flashing her a really big smile

she hits her forehead as if remembering something"am such a bad hostess right?? I Didn't even show you round the house and most especially the rooms so that you can settle down"she says

"its really nothing",I chuckled...."I saw that you were busy when I came in"I replied her

she then takes me to tour the rooms, The first room, is a really big masters bedroom with a queen sized bed,and majorly cream interior with an ensuite bathroom,the next room is almost as big as the first room but in place of the queen sized bed,there are twin beds in the room , also with an ensuite bathroom.

The third room whose interior is different from the usual withe and ash interior I have been seeing so far Has nudish pink interiors that gives the room a warm an homely feel with twin beds and an ensuite bathroom.....this room is equally big

so far,I have not gotten the room for me I would have liked Ari's room but the pink is definitely not my color ,it looks way to girly for me,if i will use any girly colour it will be lavender.

I open the door of the last room,and I am mesmerized by the room its not only a room with lavender interiors,it has a single bed which means I won't be having a roommate and this makes me supper thrilled because of how messed up I always am after having nightmares I don't want anyone prying their nose into my business

"this is my kind of room"I give a satisfied smile

"yeaaa its really beautiful, you have a really nice taste and better still you won't have a roommate"Ari says

"your taste is not bad either except that you will be having a roommate....are you okay with that??"I asked Ari

"hmm....not really I love my privacy because my room has always been a safe heaven for me"she replies sadly

okay about the Safe heaven thing am not so sure of that so I guess am sticking to the privacy part.....then am positive we can always figure something out, so assured her not to worry and in no time her bubbly mood is back.

Ari helps me get my boxes up the stairs,and helped me settle In despite me asking her not to worry she stood by me.Apart from my mom, I have not really had close friends because most people thinks am the sassy b***h ,and the little set of people that doesn't feel that way about me I have never given them a place in my heart but this Ari girl is charming her way to my heart,it feels so right but at the same time it scares me to my core.

we finish arranging and decide to go to the sitting room for our own share of the welcome cake since its evening already and the other emeralds are not forthcoming.....it took a lot of convincing to drag Ari downstairs because she was hell bent on waiting for the other girls before cutting the cake but I wasn't having any of it,hello.....its cake we are talking about here.

I enter the lounge and notice the door opening,a fair skinned lady with bright undertone and sapphire eye which makes her extremely attractive,pouty lips,dark cocoa hair with caramel highlights pilled in a neat bun and of average height walks in,she is followed closely by someone who looks like her, they are not so identical but the resemblance can not be overlooked

The person closely following her also has a dark cocoa hair with caramel highlight just like her but their eye colors are different, this person has a hazel brown eyes and beige skin with warm undertone, she is slightly taller than the lady with sapphire blue eyes and her deep wave hair cascading down her shoulder.

lastly,a tall lady walks in with small burst and wide hips,she also has a dark cocoa hair with expresso colored eyes, her skin is fair but with a really warm undertone and her lips are drawn in a thin line,she doesn't look playful and jovial like the first lady that walked in,her kinky straight hair is sleeked back with her edges slayed she looks like the serious type.

Ariana walks into the sitting room and seems to recognize them all,from the way she a dressed them,the lady with sapphire blue eyes is olive, the one with the expresso eyes is Ember and the last lady with straight hair is Eden and they are the Weston triplets,from what I gathered from how Ari talked to them,they dropped earlier this morning.

The Weston sisters left the lounge to settle in when the last Emerald walks in,she is tall and really slim with porcelain skin and a cool undertone,jade green eyes,long fan like lashes,her pink lips are pouty,her short raven black hair has loose curls with blunt cut at her shoulder length,her baby hairs are lying on her skin she doesn't have expensive designer clothes on,but her dressing is really nice and presentable she also doesn't have lots of luggage like the other girls,she introduces herself as Melanie Caleb.....she said she prefers to be called Meelah.

later that day,by the time everyone settled in,Ari later gets what she wants she doesn't have a roommate since olive the head of house that is supposed to have a room to herself decides to share a room with Ember,well they look really more than their other sister Eden .....Eden and Meelah are sharing a room ,while Ari and I have our rooms to our self.........we sit on the lounge and eat the cake Ari makes for us quietly.

if there is one thing I didn't fail to notice happening for the past thirty minutes we all have been sitting in the lounge then that will be olive shifting uncomfortably in her seat,every one has been busy or I would rather say pretending to be busy with their phone because I am not ,i am just holding my phone so that sitting in the lounge won't make me feel awkward, considering the fact that i am not so great with people am meeting for the very first time.

"my parents didn't pay this much for me to be unhappy....and with the kind of person I am,I don't think I can last long in a boring environment so can we please stop playing the observation card and get to know each other??"olive speak in a frustrated tone

olive is kinda right though, we all are going to spend a whole year together,if not more than that.......so I feel the earlier we get along the better for us all. but in my own case, this kind of thing is easier said than done more so I am felling oppressed with the kind of relationship the triplets share.

Eden is looking more like the big sister figure making decisions fit for them all in consideration to the other twins feelings while olive has this unparalleled vibe, as for Ember I don't really know where to place her but she looks kinda shy.

"I prefer to lead by example so I will introduce myself properly....my name is olive Weston am a singer, a dancer,am a theater and performing arts major ,you can call me a comedian too since I make people laugh....I have two siblings and I don't like boring things I feel life is too short so we should enjoy and make the most of it while it lasts"olive concludes and bows in a dramatic way as if just completing a presentation.

"am Melanie caleb, I come from a middle class family,am on scholarship majoring in estate management,am only child so I have no siblings and I hate people pitying me,am a strong and independent woman and am looking forward to having a peaceful co existence with you all.....I think that's basically all"she concludes and sits quietly

"am Eden weston,am a major in business administration I have two siblings,I like reading and one of my core responsibilities is taking care of my family,am not the party type and I like to eat healthy"she concludes and points at me to go next

"I am Aurora Winston a sophomore and i major in business administration,I like to party ,eat and have fun,am not an only child I have a troublesome brother,am from Gray city in Blackwood so I transferred here,I have come to Myrtle circle to explore different things....... then I love jasmine flower"I conclude my speech with mixed feelings am not the type that likes talking about myself.

"am Ember Weston,a major in marketing,I also have two wonderful siblings,I love making up and creating different looks, I also love to style peoples hair though am not a professional, I just have fun doing my thing,am the shy type when meeting new people but when I get comfortable with them I guess am not that boring to be with"she completes her introduction with a shy smile

"am Ariana Norlan every body calls me Ari, am an only child and I have been restricted to doing only the things am told to do ,going to only where I am asked to go and behaving the way I feel Is acceptable in the eyes of others considering the fact that am the heiress to the Norlan multi billion empire but this time around I want to put all those behind me and be who I really am,I want to meet new people and explore new things....am a major in industrial design....and apart from cooking, I love designing".she concludes

All emeralds Introduced themselves and we have random discussions we agreed to get to know each other better but I prefer to know the public opinion on someone before contrasting it to whatever I observe about them so I do a background check on the emeralds.
