CHAPTER FOUR
TANIA’S POINT OF VIEW
I stared at her television in shock, cleaning my eyes to be sure I wasn’t dreaming. Noah and Candy are engaged? How? When?
“This is impossible,” I said to myself. “It has to be fake,”
But then again, if it is fake, how did it get to the news?
I stood up, pacing up and down the living room in shock, my eyes bulging out in surprise as I bit my fingers anxiously. I took a deep breath to try and calm myself down, but it wasn’t working.
“I have never noticed Noah looking at Candy even once, even though Candy keeps throwing herself at him. How did this happen? Could Noah have been cheating on me all this while? What the hell is going on?”
There were so many questions in my head, but I got no answers. I couldn’t let everything slip away from my fingers just like that.
I knew that Noah was angry about the s*x tape, but why didn’t he even give me a chance to defend myself? It was as if he was waiting for the s*x tape to drop, so he could take everything away from me.
“I think I need to find out who is behind all of this. But how do I do that?” I asked myself.
I was overwhelmed with everything that was going on and decided to console myself with the fact that deep down, Noah was only engaged with Candy to spite me. The love we share is real.
Surely, all of it couldn’t end this way. I tried too hard to be delusional because I felt I’d go insane at this point.
I went through my phone and saw a mail. I remembered it was sent to me the previous morning. It is an invite to a party, and a lot of models and other distinguished personalities in the fashion business would be in attendance.
I contemplated if I should go or not. I knew Candy and Noah would be there, and all I needed to do was to get Noah alone and explain everything to him properly, without the interference of his bodyguards or Candy and Brooke.
I couldn’t let Noah go just like that, especially because he had a bad impression of me. That was the only thing keeping me from ending it all. What was the point of life when my career, reputation, and fiance is gone?
“f**k it! I’m going to that party to clear the air,”
I went through my wardrobe and looked for a dress to wear. I finally settled for a beautiful black floor-length gown with an open back.
The beautiful dress rested well on my slender frame, and my body looked divine in it.
I looked at myself in the mirror, admiring how beautiful I looked. My hands traveled to the necklace on my neck, and I stroked it tenderly.
I remembered when Noah got it for me, and wore it around my neck as he showered me with kisses and gushed about how beautiful I Looked. Now, the same man couldn’t stand my presence anymore.
I gave a deep sigh and left the room. Since Brooke had taken the car Noah got me, I had to use my other car, which is a smaller model.
I got in and drove straight to the venue, arriving only after a few minutes.
The hall in the venue was beautifully decorated, and several distinguished guests could be seen, moving up and down in the hall, having conversations with one another with a glass of wine in their hands. Some were laughing at each other’s jokes while some were simply hanging around.
I took in a deep breath and walked in.
“I can do this,” I whispered to myself as I clutched my purse tightly to hide my anxiety. My feet wobbled in my heels, but I managed to walk confidently into the hall.
Some of the guests were staring at me and whispering to one another, but I pushed thoughts of any other person aside. What I want is to speak with Noah.
As my eyes traveled around the room, they rested on Candy, who was sipping a glass of wine and speaking with Brooke.
I knew they were talking about me, but I didn’t care. I wondered where Noah was, and decided to go to the bathroom, and hopefully, by the time I’m back, I’ll see Noah.
Just as I was almost in the bathroom, someone grabbed my arm and I turned back. It was Candy.
“Let me go!” I yanked my hand off.
“Aawn! Are you pissed that your v****a couldn’t keep Noah?”
“I’m not in the mood to speak to you, so run along,”
“And who are you in the mood to speak to? Noah?” Candy smirked and shook her head. “Don’t you get it, Noah doesn't want you anymore,”
“It’s none of your business,”
“Except it is. Noah is my fiance and his business is mine. We’re getting married in a month,” Candy flashed her finger In my face.
I swallowed hard. The ring on her finger is the same ring Noah used to propose to me, and it hurt me deeply.
“What did you think? That Noah will marry you? You think you still have a chance with him? You’re such a fool. How do you think your videos got on the internet in the first place?”
“W-What? I don’t understand,”
“You’re even slower than I thought. Who has access to your apartment anytime they want. Noah did all of these to get rid of you,”
“No! No! That’s not possible,” I shook my head, refusing to believe her lies.
“Noah and I have been dating for a while, and he was only sleeping with you because you opened your legs for him. How do you think we are engaged so quickly? We’ve been together before he started sleeping with you but you foolishly thought you could come in as a nobody and get married to Noah? Really?” You’re such an i***t,”
I felt like her head was spinning as I tried to absorb the information I just heard. Candy cannot be lying, because how did she get engaged so quickly? And Noah is the only one who had access to my apartment freely.
“How could Noah do this? Why did he do this?”
I suddenly felt dizzy, and ran out of the hall and into my car, tears streaming down my eyes, as my shaky hands struggled to put the car key in its hole. I finally managed to, and drove off immediately, crying her eyes out, as mucus poured out of my nose into my melting makeup.
How could I have been so foolish to fall for Noah’s games? How did I not see this coming?
My teary eyes blurred my vision, and I knew I risked having an accident, but I didn’t care. All I wanted to do was to get away from everything.
Suddenly a car appeared and sped up towards me. I screamed in fear, as the car clashed with mine and my car rolled to the side and hit a tree. Slowly, my eyes began to shut close till I blacked out.
