Chapter 10

BANG!

Gabrielle, Unique's father, opened the door with a loud noise. Unique and his mother were walking behind Gabrielle. Unique looked bored, Amanda looked worried about the things that would happen. Gabrielle didn't turn around. He just closed his eyes and heaved deep sighs and rubbed his head. With a sharp turn, he faced Unique, who didn't care about anything at all. Gabrielle stared at his son for a long time. Then with a suppressed anger in his voice, Gabrielle spoke.

"What the hell did you do this time?" Gabrielle asked Unique.

"Nothing, just a usual prank, " Unique replied.

"BE SPECIFIC! I NEED DETAILS! AND WHY WAS I INFORMED THAT YOU ARE SUSPENDED, AGAIN?!" Gabrielle roared.

Amanda walked to her husband and tried to calm him down even just a little bit.

"Gabrielle, just calm down, please," Amanda said with a worried look for Gabrielle.

"HOW CAN I CALM DOWN?! HE DID IT AGAIN. HOW MANY TIMES NOW IS IT?!" Gabrielle roared, ignoring the worried look of his wife.

"EXPLAIN IT TO ME NOW!" Gabrielle added.

Unique didn't look up at his father but he still answered his questions.

Tsk. He is really pissed. Doesn't he know that it was always like this? What is the point of confronting me now? Hah. Let's just talk so that this talk will finish soon.

"Fine. I was just playing a prank on her because she is a new transferee student. I wanted to welcome her with a simple prank that is all, " Unique explained to his father.

"THEN WHY ARE YOU SUSPENDED AGAIN IF YOU JUST PLAYED A LITTLE PRANK?!" his father asked with an angry voice.

"I didn't know she would have a panic attack that would have sent her to the hospital. I didn't know that she would freak out because of some spiders that I put on her clothes, " Unique said.

"HOSPITAL?! YOU PUT HER ON THE HOSPITAL AT HER FIRST DAY AT THE SCHOOL?! ARE YOU CRAZY?!" His father roared again.

Unique didn't answer. He just bowed down and stared at the floor, not minding the stare of his father.

Stop staring at me that hard. You want to dig holes in me? Ugh. I am so tired. Just end this conversation.

Gabrielle breathed heavily. He has a heavy heart because of the things that Unique has done so far. And this by far was the worst one.

"Gabrielle, please just breathe, " Amanda said with a worried face.

Gabrielle turned to his wife, Amanda.

"You, why did you hide it from me?! You are supposed to take care of him. What are you doing?!" Gabrielle snapped back and yelled at her.

"Don't yell at me! I didn't know it either. I have no idea so don't blame me! Yes, I am his mother but you are, too, his father. So you have to be responsible for Unique too, " Amanda snapped back.

"But you are more responsible than me. You are his mother, so you should take care of him. I am so busy with so much work and I don't have the time to care about him, " Gabrielle replied.

Unique just listen to them. He was a bit hurt because of the thing that he heard. He always heard those words but somehow he didn't get used to them. Every time he heard those words, he wanted to cry and tossed everything in front of him.

He was so sick and tired of these things happening again and again.

Hah. Yeah, I understand. They are so busy that they don't have time to care about me. This is always the same. I didn't even know when was the last time they properly took care of me. They will just talk to me if I have done something.

Those thoughts were eating up Unique. He wanted to bolt from the room but he chose to stay until the conversation was over. He flinched when he heard his father said his name.

"You are a disappointment to this family. I can't believe that you are my son, " Gabrielle said to Unique while pointing his finger at him.

"GABRIELLE! DON'T BE LIKE THAT! DON'T SAY THAT TO YOUR SON!" Amanda yelled at her husband.

"WHAT?! What did you say? Stop? Why should I stop? Everything I said is true. He is a disgrace to this family, " Gabrielle snapped back at her.

"Besides, he always causes trouble every time. He has been suspended for pranking students at school for many times now. And if not in school, he was at the police station, " he added.

"But that was an accident. He didn't do anything wrong, " Amanda replied.

"Even though he didn't do anything at all, he still went to the police station. He and his friends were there. His friends are a bad influence on him, " Gabrielle said.

When Unique heard his father mentioning his friends, he looked at his father and complained.

"Father! Don't say that to my friends!" Unique yelled at his father.

Amanda, his mother, was wide eyed because Unique yeled for the first time. She was so shocked that she put her hands in front of her mouth.

"WHAT?! I JUST TOLD THE TRUTH! AND WHY DID YOU YELL AT ME?!" Gabrielle yelled back at his son.

"Because they were not part of any of my pranks at all. So don't badmouth them!" Unique said firmly.

"Hah! They were not part of but they told you to do those pranks. Is that what you are saying?" His father said mockingly.

"NO! I WILL SAY IT AGAIN, THEY ARE NOT PART OF ANY OF IT OR THE ONES THAT TOLD ME TO DO THOSE THINGS!" Unique yelled at his father.

"DON'T RAISE YOUR VOICE ON ME! I AM YOUR FATHER!" Gabrielle snapped back.

"Please lower your voice, you two. Just speak calmly to each other, " Amanda interrupted.

Gabrielle turned to her and gave her a dangerous look. His eyes were like a wild beast full of anger.

"Don't butt in in our conversation, " Gabrielle said to Amanda with a threatening voice.

Amanda shut her mouth and she just watched the father and son yelled at each other from the back of the room.

"Unique, you cross the line today. You have no right to raise your voice in front of me, " Gabrielle said to Unique.

"Why? I can do it. And I will do it again if you insult my friends again, " Unique replied firmly.

"So, are you ready for your punishment?" His father said while smirking.

"What punishment? I didn't do anything wrong. I just defended my friends, " Unique replied while looking confused.

"You forgot something that you did, " Gabrielle said.

Unique looked confused by the words of his father. And then. He remembered that he sent that transferee student to the hospital because of his prank.

Shoot! I totally forgot about that because he insulted my friends.. Arghh. What punishment is it going to be this time? Argh. This is really a long and bad night for me. I want to get out of here , right now.

With those thoughts, Unique looked so shocked because of the sudden realization. His father, Gabrielle, smiled at him faintly.

"I will tell you your punishment, " Gabrielle said.

"You will be grounded for two months, " he added firmly.

"What?!" Unique said with wide eyes.

"Yes, you are grounded. You will go to school and back to the house for two months. You will have a driver who will drive you from the house to school and back. I will confiscate your keys, " Gabrielle said to Unique.

"I will also limit your cards from now on, " Gabrielle added.

"What the hell? Why? You can limit my cards but you will not get my keys, " Unique complained.

"Oh, yes, I can. You are not allowed to go outside besides going to school for two months, " Gabrielle said of his final decision.

Unique couldn't believe it. It was too much for him. He was just grounded for two months, limited his cards, took away his car keys and now he couldn't go outside. And it was for two whole months.

Unique was so shocked that he bolted out of the room, leaving his parents behind.
