The sound of the alarm clock woke her up that morning. She immediately got up, turned off the alarm and went back to her bed to sleep again. Last night she came home late because their manager at the coffee shop suddenly asked if she can over time. Because Ernie needs to earn more money she accepted it, but their manager didn’t told her that they will took until 11:00 pm. And right now she’s still sleepy. When her alarm clock rings again, Ernie get up and looked at the time. When she saw the time she almost fell on her small bed. Its 7:30 in the morning and her class will start at 8:00 am! Ernie immediately went to her drawer and gets her pants and black shirt. She took her towel and toiletries and went outside her room. The shower room is at the 1st floor. Ernie went down and saw that there are two people who are also waiting for someone to finish taking a bath. “This is unbelievable! I should have set the alarm early, is my alarm broken? Or was I just in a deep sleep because of last night?” she asked herself. “Ernie! You came home late last night; do you already have a boyfriend?” Angeline asked. Angeline is her schoolmate. She’s studying Bachelor of Arts as a 2nd year college student at the Guerrero Colleges. She’s funny and friendly. She’s also smart, but behind that Angeline is unlucky when it comes to love. She always heard her crying every time she and her boyfriend break up. “Do you need to go first? My class will start at 11:00 am, I don’t need to go to school this early,” she said. Ernie smiled at the woman. She’s really kind hearted. From the first day she moved to Stella’s apartment, Angeline always talks to her. She told her that if ever she needs something she can borrow it to her. When Angeline learned that her mother died she cried in front of her. She has a soft heart and she easily pities someone’s life. “Is it okay? I have 8:00 am class, I came home late last night because of overtime at work,” she said. Angeline patted her shoulder and smiled at her, “It’s okay! You are so hard working, Ernie, it’s the least thing I can do to help you so you don’t need to worry about that.” When the woman in front of Angeline heard about it she also told her that she can take a bath next. “I don’t need to go to school early too; you can go next, Ernie!” Gia said. Gia is also her schoolmate. She’s taking Bachelor of Science in Information technology and she’s a 2nd year college student. “Thank you, Girls! Next time if I got my salary I will buy you ice cream!” She said. When she looked at the clock near her, Ernie stomps her feet. She can’t be late! They have a long quiz for the first subject. She needs to maintain her grades for her scholarship or else she will not make it for the next semester. Angeline pushed her when the woman inside that shower room went out. “Go, Ernie! Its 7:40 am, you only have 20 minutes to prepare. The good thing is our university was just in front. You don’t need to take a lot of time to travel.” Angeline said. Ernie immediately went inside the shower room and put down her toiletries. She needs to take a bath for ten minutes and wear her clothes and get her things for five minutes. Every second is important to her because she has 2 jobs and she study in the morning. Later after her class she need to work as a waitress at the Sweetheart’s coffee shop 1 block away from their university. When she was finished taking a bath, Ernie went out and thanked the Angeline and Gia. “Thank you so much, girls! See you on school!” she said. Ernie went to her room and wears her clothes as fast as she could. After that she went to her drawer and took her comb. She immediately took her bag and went outside the apartment. She runs fast while she was holding her comb. “I can’t be late, not today!” she said. When she entered the university she almost didn’t enter the gate because she forgot her ID thank goodness that the guard knows her and gestured her to go inside. When Ernie looked at her wristwatch she saw that it’s 7:55 am. She ran fast and went to their department’s building. The College of Education department. When she saw their room Ernie went in. Some of her classmates weren’t there yet and she thanked God because she made it. She went to her designated chair and sit. When she noticed something on her hand she saw her comb. She’s still holding her comb! She laughed crazily and started to comb her hair. When she looked at the reflection on the window she laughed again because her hair is so messy. She looks crazy! “Ernie, do you have free time? Can you tell me how to solve this one?” one of her classmates asked her. She’s May. While combing her hair, Ernie looked at May’s notebook and looked at the problem. “Oh okay, wait. I’ll just get my pen,” she said. She teaches her and after that she takes out her notes to show her the differences. “Oh, so I need to put the x variable here, nice, your explanation is easy to understand! Thank you Ernie! You are the best!” May said. After that their Professor came in. She has some test papers on her hand. Ernie prayed to God, she didn’t review any notes last night because after her work she already fell asleep. She’s praying to pass the test. “Okay, since you are just few can you all take one sit apart?” their professor said. Ernie took her pen and stand up. She went on her back and sit again. Professor Diana is one of the strict professors at the Guerrero Colleges. She makes sure that no one on her class will get the chance to cheat and copy on seatmates. I am too far from them, I’m sure I can’t be able to see their answers. Huhu. Ernie knew that it’s bad to copy and she’s not used to it because she’s one of the top students. She doesn’t want to disappoint the professors. But even the smartest cheat sometimes, right?
