I always suspected that the shadows of Blackthorn Estate hid secrets: whispers of power, possession, and bloodlines older than the town itself. But nothing could have prepared me for the night I was pulled into its darkness… or for the man who ruled it.When my sister disappeared, every clue pointed to the enigmatic and ruthless Damian Blackthorn, heir to the dynasty that owned half the city and controlled the rest through fear. Determined to bring her home, I crossed through the iron gates of his mansion with only my shaky courage. I expected danger. I expected deceit. But I didn’t expect him.Damian was like a storm wrapped in silk and sin dangerously calm yet devastatingly magnetic. His presence filled the room; his voice wrapped around my spine like a claim I didn’t agree to but felt nonetheless. He told me my sister wasn’t missing… she had chosen to belong to his world. And now, because I had come for her, I was tied to it as well. What started as a forced bargain twisted into a deadly dance. Damian guarded me like an object, watched me with obsession, and touched me like a man who had waited centuries to feel something real. Every moment with him drew me deeper into a world where loyalty was currency and desire was a weapon. But beneath his cold demeanor lay a man haunted by promises, curses, and a legacy built on broken souls. Loving him meant surrendering more than just my heart it meant risking my sanity, my safety, and possibly even my humanity.Because the night he claimed me was the night my fate became intertwined with his…And there is no escaping a man who believes you were meant to be his.

Chapter 1: The Gates
The night I approached Blackstone Estate, something felt off in the air as if the darkness was holding its breath. The iron gates loomed above me, darkened by age, with metal twisted into shapes that seemed almost alive beneath the moonlight. I pressed my palm against the frigid surface, pushing aside the tremor in my hand. Somewhere beyond those gates… my sister was waiting. Or trapped. Or worse. The police had given up. Everyone in town had lost hope. Everyone except for me. The gates creaked open before I even touched the intercom. My heart skipped a beat. Someone something was expecting me. I stepped inside. The gravel crunched under my boots, each step ringing out in the eerie silence. The estate stretched out like a fortress rather than a mansion:black brick, black windows, shadows clinging like a second skin. Whispers floated on the wind, soft and impossible to ignore. I told myself they were just leaves. Just leaves. But I had grown up hearing tales about this place the Blackstone bloodline and the ancient curse hanging over their land like smoke. About the heir Charles Blackstone the man people spoke of in hushed tones and cautious glances. My fingers clenched into fists. If he took my sister, I would drag her out myself. A door creaked open. And then I saw him. He stood silhouetted in the massive doorway, tall and sharp like a blade. His suit was black, his shirt darker still, but his eyes those molten silver eyes glinted as if reflecting a fire I couldn’t see. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. “Miss Hale.” His voice was smooth like dark velvet heavy and unsettling. “You’re late.” Late? A chill ran through me. He had been waiting for me. “Where is my sister?” I managed to ask, my voice cracking on the last word. He descended the steps slowly, each stride deliberate as if he owned the night and relished watching others struggle to find their way through it. “Inside,” he replied. “Safe. For now.” I stepped forward; he moved closer to me. We met halfway in a silence that felt sharp enough to cut. “You shouldn’t have come alone.” His fingers brushed back a strand of hair from my cheek with an intimacy that burned. “But I suppose you were always destined to.” I recoiled. “Don’t touch me.” A dangerous smile played on his lips soft yet calculated, predatory. “Your sister said something similar at first.” My stomach dropped. Before I could ask questions, he reached for me not roughly, not gently, but with a certainty that made my heart race. “You entered my world tonight,” he murmured, leaning closer. “And that comes with consequences.” I swallowed hard. “I’m not scared of you.” “You should be.” Lightning cracked across the sky. The lights in the mansion flickered. In that brief moment, his expression shifted—something ancient and painful flickered behind the darkness in his eyes. “Come,” he said softly, offering his hand. It wasn’t a request; it was a command. “If you want the truth… step inside.” I hesitated for just a second. Then I placed my hand in his. As soon as our skin touched, the air changed:heavy, electric, wrong. It felt like something unseen had been waiting for this exact moment. Waiting for me. As the door closed behind us with a sound that echoed like a final decision, I realized one chilling truth: I hadn’t been drawn to Blackstone Estate. I had been claimed by it. And by the man who ruled its shadows.
