chapter 2

Training with my dad was exhausting for the rest of the first week. I was taught how to use many types of guns. The revolver was my favorite, though,  so dad told me I could keep it. He even put my name on it. Then we started practicing with knives. While my aim wasn't bad, it wasn't perfect either I kept hitting the red and yellow areas, and when I finally hit the green area, the knife didn't stick; it took me 4 days to finally master throwing knives only because I practice for 6 hours each day.  Dad told me not to overdo it, but I hate not being able to do things. I love challenges, and I always managed to get past them. Finally, dad taught me how to wield a sword. Now that was hard, and it was hard to swing and try to dodge his attacks. Dad was fast, and all his moves were precise. We practiced for a few hours until, eventually, I  got tired and left. I took a shower and went on a walk.  As I walked, I thought about the argument me and my dad had. Apparently, he thinks that I still need 3 guards even though I proved that I could handle myself. I hate that he's been gone for 10 years, and now he's trying to dictate my life. I am ready for school so I can have a break from my overbearing father.    As I walked through the halls, I realized two things I'm 15 minutes late, and I forgot where my class was. I walked around and tried to find a familiar face when I saw the twins. I walked towards them, and they looked at my schedule. I realized I had four classes with them, which means there are only two chances to get lost again in the 7th or 8th period.  As we walked into the class, everyone got quiet and stared at me. The teacher asked me to introduce myself. I told them My name was Alexis Marie Gray and that my dad was Alexander Gray. After I said that, the teacher told me I could sit down. I guess he's also scared of my dad. I wonder if there is anyone in this school who isn't afraid of my father. The day went by fast, and soon it was time for lunch. I sat with this girl Emily, and everyone stared at me again.  I thought I had something on my face or something until Emily told me that no one sits with her because of Michelle. I guess that's the blonde barbie b***h. Well, I still sat with her. I hate that the barbie b***h she apparently runs the school, and everyone is afraid of her, so they bully Michelle. That's just sad. Speaking of barbie, she was walking towards us until she looked up and saw me. She then smirked and stopped right in front of me.  She and her friends surrounded me, and everyone was watching, waiting to see what will happen next. When I asked what she wanted, she told me she wanted me to do this talent show with her, and she would make a deal with me. Basically, if I win, she will leave me alone and do whatever I wanted for a month and vice versa. I agreed, and everyone looked at me like I had two heads. Apparently, Michelle is really talented, like she has been winning this contest since 2nd grade. I'm not going to lie. That made me a little nervous, but I didn't show it. I just went about my day until school ended, and I went to my room.  Apparently, I didn't have a roommate because my father wanted me to share my suite with my bodyguards. Luckily 2 of them were the twins, and we got along well. As I sat in my room, I wondered what I could do for the talent show. Maybe I could sing even though it has been years; I do have 3 weeks. I looked through my journal to find a song to sing when I felt someone behind me. I turn to see the twins and the cocky guy who I fought in the gym. I need to learn his name. They all looked at me.  "Alex, why did you challenge Michelle? You do know how good she is, right "Bianca asked me.  Yes, I told them, but someone obviously needs to. Plus, I hate people like her, and I never back out of a challenge. " Well, I hope your ready to follow her around for a month because there's no way you can win." "Jeremiah, how do you know you don't? Alex might have talent, right Brianna asked." " I do, but I haven't played in years." " What do you play, Alex? they asked." 'Um, I play the guitar and the piano. I could play and sing".  "Sing what" they all looked at me.  I looked at them and shrugged. I walked to my closet and took out my baby, my beautiful guitar, and my songbook. I went through my book and found a song. This is option 1. I started playing with the strings until I found the melody and hummed along with the lyrics. I sat there and played with my guitar. I don't know when the twins left because only Jeremiah was left when I looked up. You play well, he told me; I hope you sing as well. Then he just left jerk. He couldn't just give out a compliment. But he's right. I have 3 weeks to train my voice.   As the week went by, I would practice late at night when I knew they were gone or while they slept. On Friday I got to go home. I went to my study room, which by the way, is soundproof; my dad said so that I could study without any distractions, and hey, it works for me.  As I practiced, I realized I knew which song I wanted to sing. I practiced all weekend when I wasn't training. One day while I was practicing, I heard the door open I turned around to see Jeremiah.  "you do have a nice voice, but the song needs a little work. Can I show you something".  Sure, I told him, then he walked over, and he grabbed the guitar. I had to admit he was good, and the song did sound better. He also helped me with a few lyrics, and I was finally ready for the show. I guess he's not that bad.  The week before the show, the twins took me shopping never again. I love shopping but never have I felt this tired before, and poor Jeremiah had to come with us at one point; we ended up walking off and leaving the twins. When I say that they can shop, I mean really shop when we were done we can barely fit in the car we spend at least 25 thousand.  The worst part is the girls made me try on 20 different outfits before we finally decided on what I would wear and how I would style my hair. I chose this black dress with my back out; I curled my hair and wore some nice sandals with it.  Time for the show. Let's hope I win.
