Do you ever wonder why people keep secrets? Do you think that they are just protecting themselves, or are they protecting others too? Well, on my 17th birthday I got the shock of my life. My father, alexander gray, who I thought was dead, just showed up. I found out that he's a mafia king and that my parents expect me to train to take over when he steps down. But the worst part is I have to move and leave all my friends to go to a new school with stuck-up rich kids with bodyguards and other mafia families. I don't know if I'm ready for all this. I mean, just yesterday I had an everyday life. I was going to high school with my friends. I probably was going to get in a lot of trouble because I am a bit crazy, but I was going to be with friends, not some spoiled snobby ass rich kids. so here I am on a plane to new york with my parents on my way to my new school.
As I look at the building, I can already tell I'm going to hate this place. The building looks like a museum, and there are guards everywhere, like a prison. The inside was lovely. They even had a lounge and library, which is where I'll mostly be beside the gym. The students all looked like typical rich kids name brand everything now doesn't get me wrong, I'm rich myself, but I hate snobs who flaunt their money and like to show off like that's just childish. As we enter the office, I look around, and everything here is costly, I mean everything. Then the principal walks out of his office from the look on his face; he's terrified of my dad, but who wouldn't be just to let you? My dad runs the largest mafia worldwide. He even has men in Canada. The principal took one glance at me then looked at my father. He handed me my schedule, then called some girl in and told her to show me around. As we walked, I studied her. She seemed different from the other kids, more on the shy side, and her clothes weren't as lovely. We might get along. As we were walking, I heard a commotion going on in the hallway. I turn to see three girls picking on this girl. Now I hate bullies. I mean, for real hate them. I hate seeing people being mistreated. I start to walk towards the girls when the girl next to me grabbed my hand.
" Stop, don't get involved. Their dads practically run this school. They will get off, but you will be in trouble".
"So," I told her and walked over anyway. When they saw me, they stopped.
" look, girls, we have a new girl. We have to show her where she belongs here". The girl who spoke looked like your typical mean girl with long blonde hair, skimpy clothes, and two idiots following her. I Ignored them and looked at the girl they were bullying.
" Are you okay? "I asked her. she started crying as I tried to step closer to her, one of the girls grabbed me. I looked at her, then twisted her arm and pushed her off me.
"Never in your life touch me again," I told her. she moved away, and I looked at the girl they were bullying. "What's your name." Emily, she told me.
"Well, Emily, never cry when someone messes with you; it gives them power over you. Always keep a straight face and fight back. Even if you can't win, then you don't appear weak." After I finished talking to her, I went back to my tour guide, and we left.
" Why did you do that"? She asked me.
" Because I hate people who pick on others to make themselves feel better. My name is Alexis. What's your "Amara she told me.
"Well, Alexis, I think you're going to fit right in; let's finish looking around."
When we finally finished the tour, I was tired. This school is big ass hell, and I have to walk these halls every day. When we made it back to the office, my dad and the principal were done talking. My dad looked at me, then grabbed his coat, and we left. "So Lexi, what do you think of the school."
"I mean, it's not a bad dad, but I'll still miss my old school but, I'll try."
"That's all that I'm asking, Lexi. Just try for me, please."
" Fine, dad, but if I hate it, can I be HomeSchooled."
"We'll talk about that if that happens, Alexis."
"Fair enough, so when do I have to move in. "
You only have to stay there doing the week school starts next month, so you have two weeks in that time we need to work on your fighting skills, and eventually, I will teach you how to use weapons. While you're at school, you will have four bodyguards at least until you can handle yourself better.
" What do you mean, dad? I have been taking lessons since I was a kid; I can handle myself, dad, trust me."
"we will see training starts tomorrow, so get some rest. "
"fine, see you in the morning."
"you're not eating dinner, Lexi."
"Nope, not hungry tell ma I said good night '.
As I walked to my room I looked around at my new house it's nice. I have to admit when I made it to my room, I went to my closet, which is enormous. I'm glad all my shoes fit. I have at least 40 pairs of shoes. I love shoes and shopping. I walked through the closet and got a Nightgown, and made my way to the bathroom. I love this shower. It's big, and the water pressure is just right. after my shower, I wrote in my journal and went to bed.
When my dad said that we would be training, I didn't think he meant at 6 am. I am not a morning person, I struggled to stay awake, so I missed half of what my dad's saying. I just kept nodding my head. The next thing I know, this boy walks in. He's about my age, and my dad says he wants us to fight.
So we walk to the mat. I studied him. He was at least 6'3, and with me being 5'11, he was taller than me, not to mention his arm. He was fit. But I trained since I was 6, so I'm sure that I can handle myself. As we faced each other, my dad said, start. I watch him for a while. He did the same we were studying each other, he made the first move luckily I managed to dodge throughout the fight I dodge most of his attacks and manage to hit him a few times we have been fighting for twenty minutes neither of us willing to give up, but I could tell he was tired his breathing was heavy and his moves were slower. I used that to my advantage and managed to knock him down with a few punches. My dad announced that I was the winner, and I walked off the mat and drunk some water.
"You got stronger, Lexi. I'm surprised."
" Well, it has been ten years since you have seen me fight so."
Now I didn't mean to be rude towards him, but my mouth works faster than my brain. I could tell my words hurt him, but he didn't respond. Instead, he told me to be ready for my next fight. That's how my day went. I had to fight six people, four boys and two girls. I managed to beat all of them, but I had to admit the last boy was strong; I almost lost.
"You have got stronger to think that you beat up six of my strongest fighters; go get some rest tomorrow. You will be fighting my top 3 fighters if you win, then I will teach you how to use weapons only if you win".
'okay, dad, bye.'
As I left the gym, I ran to my room. I needed a shower after my shower. I looked at my phone. It's 11 o'clock, which means it's two back home; I decided to call my best friend and talked for a while before I went down to eat lunch. When I finished, I went out back and ran on the track. I ran for about 30 minutes until I realized someone else was out there. I turn around and she the two girls that I fought earlier. They walked up to me and told me that their names were Brianna and Bianca. They were twins as we talked, I realized I just made two new friends, and it helped that they were also going to my school. They ran with me for a while as we talked until we eventually got tired. As we headed inside, I walked past a room that looked like an office. My dad was there on the phone, and by the look on his face, he wasn't happy. Not wanting to bother him, I kept walking and went to the library. I read books for the rest of the day and went to sleep; I had to be energized for training tomorrow.
The people I was fighting today were tough. No wonder they were my dad's top fighters. While I managed to beat the first dude, this chick I was fighting was tough. I struggled, but eventually, I managed to get ahead. I realized she swung most with her right since her left hip looked weaker than her right I assumed that she had injured herself recently. I used her weakness to my advantage and managed to win but barely. Now, this last dude, he was just on a different level. We have only been fighting for 6 minutes, but I already wanted to give up. I kept fighting, though since I want to learn how to use a weapon properly, after another 10 minutes, I couldn't keep fighting. I was too tired, and he could tell he had a smug look on his face like he just knew he won. I hate cocky guys, so I used the last of my strength, and I hit him. He was shocked by how strong my punch was, and I managed to knock him out of the mat, which means I win. I smirked at him, then walked towards my dad, who also looked shocked. I guess he didn't expect me to win looks as you underestimated me, dad; too bad you still have to teach me.
