Chapter 38: The Letter

      I slowly opened my eyes and looked around only to realize I was on a soft bed and in a room. I darted up in the bed and tried to remember everything. The last thing that I could remember was being in my dad’s arms as he consoled me.      The door opened and my eyes darted to meet those black ones of dads. I smiled and stretched as he handed me a cup of coffee and took a seat next to me.     “I must have fell asleep,” I whispered.    He patted my back and rubbed my head softly, “You more like passed out. I think you were a little overwhelmed.”    I nodded as I sat my coffee on the bedside table and turned to face him, “First of all, where are we?”    He laughed, “We are at a local roadside hotel.
