I was awakened suddenly from another dreamless night with an overwhelming feeling of danger lingering in the air. I sat straight up in the bed holding my chest as I took several long deep breaths to calm my racing heart. It was still dark outside, so I grabbed my phone to check the time and it was only four am. The balcony door was open allowing a slight breeze to blow through and with each flap of the curtains it sounded like low growls and whispers floating in the air. I jumped up and quickly darted around the room, slipping on some clean clothes, and putting my phone and keys in my pocket.
