Prologue: What Once was
Prologue
I heard his voice yelling. "Serenity, RUN, RUN NOW DON'T TURN AROUND, DON'T LOOK BACK NO MATTER WHAT YOU HEAR, YOU NEED TO GET WILLOW OUT OF HERE DON'T FORGET SHE'S ALL THAT MATTERS, BIND HER MEMORIES AND BIND HER POWERS! I LOVE YOU SERENITY."
My mother looked at me, then looked at my father, "I love you Lex, I always will, I'll try to keep our daughter safe." My mother then turned and shifted into her pure white wolf and used her mouth to pick me up and place me on her back before sprinting off into the woods.
I looked back as I clung onto her fur and saw my daddy shift into his crimson-colored wolf before I lost sight of him completely. I buried my face in her neck and closed my eyes.
We raced through the dark further and further away from the only home I had ever known. I could feel the branches and leaves whipping past my head as we barreled our way through the trees and undergrowth. Her steps faltered and we almost fell to the ground as she let out a whimper. Momma shook her head as she got her feet back beneath her and we took off running again.
We finally came to a stop. Momma turned her head and grabbed me in her mouth to set me on the ground before shifting back into her human form. As she looked at me, she pulled me into a tight hug and rubbed my head before whispering in my ear. "Willow, we, daddy and I both love you so very much. What I am about to do is for your own good and will keep you safe. One day the time will come and you will remember who and what you are." I looked at my momma with her beautiful white hair and amethyst-colored eyes. I reached up and put my tiny hand on her cheek before hugging her tightly. "I luv you momma."
(Translates to: Mother, Moon Goddess Luna, please bind our daughter Willow's powers and her wolf until her 18th birthday, take all memories of us from her and make her as human as possible. Hide her from those that would wish her harm and to end her life.)
I felt a warmth grow through me and a white iridescent light surrounded us. As I felt my eyes grow heavier, I heard howls start to surround us and I looked at my momma and the panicked look on her face as she carried me and hid me in the alcove of a tree and covered me with moss and leaves before leaning down and kissing my forehead. I reached for her as she turned and started walking away from my hiding spot. She shook her head at me as she shifted back into her wolf.
I tried so hard to stay awake and watch her. I couldn't move, it was as if I was wrapped up like a burrito. I couldn't even open my mouth to make a sound. But I could hear the paws of other wolves heading in our direction. As I looked at my momma, she got down in a fighting stance facing the direction of the howls before 10 wolves burst through the clearing headed straight toward her.
One of them shifted and I recognized him as my Uncle with his blonde hair and ocean grey eyes. He was also our Beta. He is younger than my mother by a few years and has always been hateful towards me. He leaned on the tree before he spoke. "Where is Willow, Serenity? Just hand her over and no one else needs to get hurt. I'll even let you go to be with your mate." My mother growled at him and lunged before being knocked back by the other wolves standing in front of him. They held her down on the ground. Dexon laughed "Okay then Serenity, if that's the way it's going to be, then so be it." As he shifted back into his golden wolf, he pounced on top of my mother as four other Wolves grabbed each of her paws in their mouths to keep her from being able to attack. The last thing I saw before the darkness swallowed me whole was my Uncle Dexon ripping my mother's head from her body.
