Chap 3

1504 Words
⚕︎MADONNA KLINE⚕︎ It's hard to accept that I'm married to a werewolf. Despite being one myself, I never envisioned a life connected to the supernatural world. My mother grew up a werewolf, an Alpha; her father was the Alpha of the Red Wolves, and she was to ascend the throne as Alpha, but she rejected it because she had fallen in love with my father during her stay in human territory while she was studying at the university. Her father tried his best to stop their love, but he failed. My mother was deeply in love with my dad and even rejected her destined mate just to be with him. When I was born, they discovered I only had 3% werewolf DNA. This brought relief to my parents, as it meant I wouldn't have a mate and could lead a normal life. However, fate played a dangerous game, leading me to marry a man with werewolf DNA—a hybrid. My mother had shared details about Ace, describing him as once known for his brutality as the prince of the werewolves. This changed when he and his wicked father, as she called him, were cursed and exiled. I heard a knock that brought me back to reality. I turned around, still dressed in my wedding gown. “Who is there?” “Your sister-in-law." A voice replied. Sister in-law? I never knew Ace had a sister; my mother never told me. Regardless, I got up and walked to the door. I was sure she’d be as mean as her father and brother. But, as soon as I opened the door, a beautiful, happy face met mine and instantly gave me a hug. “Hi, it’s so nice to finally meet you," she said, her smile not fading away. I was too stunned to speak, but I smiled anyway. “Hi, nice meeting you too.” I tried to sound composed. “Oh my God! You’re so beautiful; you look like—" she trailed off, realization hitting her face. Curiosity got the best of me, and I had to ask. “I look like who?" "Never mind, I'm so glad to have a girl here," she exclaimed, seeming very excited to meet me. "May I please come in?" “Of course, come in.” I said, and her eyes glanced at my dress. I knew she was shocked to see me still dressed in my wedding dress. “What is your name?” she asked as she sat down on my bed. I couldn’t help but notice that she had the same color of hair as Ace; they both had dirty brown hair, which was surprisingly beautiful. Even her green eyes twinkled just as his did; she was extremely beautiful. “Madonna!” I replied. She seemed stunned by my name; I could see her visibly swallowing hard. “That’s a beautiful name; my name is Zahra," she informed me. "Your name is also beautiful," I said, feeling a bit nervous standing this close to a werewolf. I know my mother is one, but this is my first time staying alone in a room with a werewolf that isn't my mother. “Thank you," she said. She glanced closely at my gown and smiled. “You need to freshen up, Madonna.” The way she called my name, it felt like she was familiar with it. “I will.” I took a seat next to her; I knew she could feel I was nervous. “You don’t need to be nervous around me, please; I want us to be friends. It is very hard for me to make human friends," she said. I felt sorry for her. "I'll be your friend." “Really?” “Yes, I’ll be your friend; I actually do need company. Since your brother and I are practically going to be enemies," I joked. She chuckled. “My brother isn’t as bad as he seems, I promise.” I knew that was a lie; my mother had already told me a lot about him. “I see.” I mumbled. “You really need to take a bath," she joked. I smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow, Madonna," she called my name with the same tone she used the other time. Instantly, I felt there was more to it, but I didn't ask. “Good night, Zahra.” I said this as we both gazed at each other. Her eyes said a lot to me, but her lips remained silent as she walked away. She waved at me and walked out of the door. I heaved a sigh of relief as I watched her walk away. Thinking back to what she said, I decided to take my bath. I walked into the bathroom, which was completely white, and took a very calm shower. The shower was very relaxing and made me forget all about my worries as soon as the water cascaded down my body. After spending over an hour soaking in the shower, I decided it was time for me to go to bed. The closet wasn’t in the bathroom but in the room, so I had to tie a towel around myself and make my way into the room. Twisting the door knob, opening the door, and walking out, my eyes met with those of Ace, and a faint scream made its way out. “What are you doing in my room?” I asked angrily. His eyes made me feel so scared that I immediately looked away from his gaze and clutched my towel tightly. The fact that he was seeing me half-naked made matters worse. “What did you say to my sister?” He asked calmly, his voice soothing yet cold. "Nothing; we only exchanged pleasantries.” I said to him. He glared at me, his eyes not leaving my neck. “Stay away from my family; you are not a part of them." “I never wanted to be a part of them, and as for your sister, I said nothing to her. What do I even have to say to her?” I asked, and he didn’t say a word. But his eyes said a lot. “Don’t try to act like my wife by being friends with my sister; I will never accept you. And also, stay away from her and never speak to her again." he commanded. “Are you done? If so, please get out of my room.” I was really angry with his words, so I had to send him out. I could see him raise a brow at my statement; his gaze was filled with astonishment. “What did you say?” he asked. “I’m sure you are not deaf; please get out of my room.” I repeated. “This is my house, and I go wherever I want," he retorted. “And this is my personal space, and I do not appreciate sharing the same air as you, Mr. Warner.” I said. He looked very shocked; his eyes twinkling even more, but he said nothing. He swallowed hard and clenched his jaws. “Hm, very well.” he stood to his feet, his eyes not leaving mine. I didn’t flinch; he needed to know that I wasn’t scared of him. He walked towards the door, but I immediately made him pause with my words. “And also, I do not ever and will never wish to be called your wife. So, you do not need to worry about me, Mr. Warner.” I said. I observed him resisting the urge to turn around as he walked away, purposefully slamming my door. A smile crept onto my face, knowing I had successfully conveyed my disinterest and dealt a blow to his ego, bringing me a sense of satisfaction. Feeling accomplished, I picked up the cellphone in the room and placed a call to my mum. I had tears in my eyes as I called her, my heart was vigorously and I didn’t know what I was going to say to her. She picked up the call in the second dial, I took in a very deep breath. “Mum!” I called out, taking in another deep breath. “I’m sorry I couldn’t stop it Madonna, I’m so sorry my love.” My mother said, her voice clearly depicting her remorsefulness. “It’s okay mum, I just called to tell you I love you.” I said, feeling my cheeks burn from the sensation that came with the tears that fell out of my eyes. “I’ll talk to you later, your father is approaching.” I heard the eagerness in her voice, she immediately turned off the phone and I laid back in bed. Tears cascading down my eyes. My heart clenched and I made an oat to make sure Ace Warner, my so called husband divorces me. I hate him and I’ll make this marriage a living hell, it’ll never work out.
