A Surprise

A couple of days after leaving the academy, we arrived in the city of Aristo. It was a city filled with tall spiraling towers, tons of canals, and a lot of coffee shops.
Nick had a bunch of money, so we decided to rent a room in one of the northern parts of the city. It was located in a short little hotel, about 4 stories tall on the left side of the main street.
That night, I fell asleep quickly with Nick’s large warm body pressed snugg up against mine.
The following morning I woke up to both myself and Nick naked, and he was snuggling my body up against his. With a kiss, I woke him up. “So Nick, I was thinking that we should go out for breakfast, say Lorel omelets!

At the restaurant just after we ordered, a group of scientists came in. When they sat down, we overheard them talking about the facility where they work.
After they left, we followed them to their science facility.
We decided to disguise ourselves magically to sneak our way in. We weaved our way into the prestigious, rumored research facility.
The facility was filled with young adults. Who were practicing magic on what appeared to be science equipment.
“Hey Nick don’t you think this is kinda weird. I’m definitely not getting any good vibes here, that’s for sure!" He whispered.
“Amon your overthinking this, just get in there already.”
" no way, not yet, we should come back later once we've figure out a plan.
When we got back to our hotel room, we went on the internet to do some more research. It turns out that they don’t keep it a secret, what they do in the labs. Apparently we were right, they are trying to enhance their science equipment with magic.
This was both astounding and intriguing! So we kept looking and found that they were just trying to use the enchanted equipment to further medical science in hospitals, because so many people are dying in them!
This was a worthy cause, so we decided we were going to help.
The next morning, we went straight to the research lab. When we got there, they stopped us at the front doors.
“Please move we're here to help.” To prove it, I used a simple light refraction magic.
He immediately moved away to let us pass. When we walked in multiple people were staring at us. We walked up to the person closest to us. It was a woman in her late 20’s short black hair with a green streak in her hair.
“What do you want?” she asked.
“We want to help, with your scientific experiments using magic.”
“Alright follow me.”
She led us into a large room filled with both large and small pieces of magically enhanced scientific equipment.
In one corner of the room stood a work station surrounded by people using magic. As we approached the work station I realized these were the friends I had made at the academy!
“What are you guys doing here?!”
“Well, you honestly didn’t think we would let you just leave us behind! Plus we overheard your conversation with that professor and put a tracking spell on the two of you, and it just so happens we beat you here.”
“Well I don’t know why, I barely got to know you three before we left.”
“I don’t know, we just thought you seemed important and worth following, and it just so happened that you are extremely important to the survival of magic itself and your also like a god, and that in itself is amazing!!
We’re your friends and loyal followers, and there is nothing that can change that! Did you think we would really come all this way if we weren’t?”
“I’m just really shocked to see you guys here, that’s all!”
“Well, we were just finishing up here. Let’s all go out for lunch, It will be our reunion treat!”
Nick replied “ Alright this will be fun, let’s go.”
“Fine, but I get to pick where we go ok.”
Shortly after we arrived at the restaurant I chose, the building was surrounded by a large group of cloaked men. Who began to bombard the front of the building with spells.
Everybody get down I shouted! As All the windows in the building liquified. Scalding and melting the floor, before reforming as a person! Who then shot liquid glass at the people within the restaurant. Before I had the chance to stop the glass Figure, the glass he shot at them then solidified around the civilians! Where they began to start encasing the others in glass too.
With my body filled with both horror and anger, I quickly gathered all of it in my mind, and combined it with my magic.
Which I released with a scream, that sent out waves of energy. That shattered the glass figures, and the people encased in glass. The men outside the building crumpled to the ground dead, leaving everyone speechless!
Afterwards, I fell to the ground. Suddenly before anyone knew it, I disappeared. Leaving behind a globe shaped crystal swirling with every color imaginable.
Nick, looking around to find out where I went, found it. “I will find you Amon no matter what!! With that he left; with the Crystal of Pure irrationalities in hand!
