The war of magic verses science

When I gained attendance to Golotherim’s Legendary Academy I was overwhelmed! It’s a school that not many people like me get to go to. This was because the kingdom that my parents rule has been rivaling against the southern side of my homeworld, which is where the academy is located. In order for me to come here my parents agreed to an arranged marriage to the spawn of the academy’s founder, in order to foster a peace agreement. So I am to live and attend classes there, until I meet the person that I’ll be married too! The founder of Golotherim’s legendary Academy was a hero from a war that most people believed to have almost caused the end of all life on Earth! He was a hero in the eyes of his followers. It’s because of him that the academy is considered legendary. When I arrived at the academy, it was empty. I walked down the glass pathway to the dorm, along the way I passed a small building. It was filled with rows and rows of empty seats, inside was a young professor. When I walked into the room, the Professor asked who I was. “I am a new student my name is Prince Amon Von Rafar. Would you mind giving me directions to the dorms, please?” He stared at me for a minute before smiling and putting his left hand in the air. As he did so, a colorful futuristic hologram like screen appeared in the air. He began scrolling through it. A minute or two later he turned towards me.“Ah yes! You’re the one who hasn’t been awakened yet.” I had no idea what he was talking about, So I asked him to clarify. "I’m talking about your ability to use magic; but in order to do that, you should know what magic is. Magic is a way to use and explain the irrationality of nature; that science can’t explain! This is because young children are able to see things despite their irrationality. Without the influence of science, they have a greater affinity to use magic. Once we begin to grow up and disregard things as being irrational we lose the capacity to call on magic in our lives.” Magicians, or people who practice magic; are able to keep their capacity to use magic open because they do not close their minds off to the limits set by science. Although, there are a few people that their magical affinities are sealed at birth to prevent irrationality. These people if they ever get the chance must be awakened!” “So, you’re telling me that I’m one of these people who need awakening!” “Yes” He drew a large symbol in the air. It began to glow before reappearing beneath me! Then all through my body I felt searing pain, more pain than I ever felt in my life!
