Kyle’s POV
I turned to reach for her, but instead my hand landed on an empty bed.
Immediately, the memories of what happened the night before came rushing down on me and I quickly jumped out of bed. I hoped that she hadn’t woken up before me and bolted out of embarrassment or something.
“Chloe!” I called out before throwing the bathroom door open.
No Chloe, No answer.
I panicked and began to run down the stairs, “Chloe! Chloe!”
When the name simply echoed back at me, I became frantic, I was near one of the landlines that were attached the wall just at the bottom of the staircase so I immediately dialed Estate security to ask if they’d seen her leave.
I’d just pressed the phone against my ear when I heard a low hum coming from downstairs.
