Chapter 13 An Apology

Daren woke up before Skye and snuck out of the room. Alfred was already up making breakfast. Some steak and eggs for Skye. “ Hey dad I have a favor to ask you. Can you take Skye out of the house for the day? I want to decorate the castle with a surprise. I’m going to ask her to marry me. When we first met I knew she was the girl for me and I bought a ring that day. I was waiting for the right time to ask her.” He said excitedly.

“ I can take her out of the house, just let her finish breakfast.” “ Thanks dad I’m going to go wake her up.” Said Daren as he ran into the bedroom. Alfred but some of his blood in her orange juice, he felt saddened though because this was likely the last day they could spend alone together. He put her breakfast on the table.

“ Wake up honey said Daren as he kissed her deeply. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back. “ I love you.” She said. “ Love you too my baby.” He said as they got up and went into the kitchen.

“ Thank for the breakfast Alfred.” Skye said as she dug in. She drank her orange juice and could actually taste the blood. “ This is so good.” She said as she smiled at him. “I’m glad you like it, you will be coming with me today to do a few things.” “Daren are you sure?” Asked Skye. “ Yes honey but when you come back I think you will like what you see.” He said as he kissed her. “Oh a surprise? I can’t wait!” She said as she kissed him back.

She soon finished eating. “ Let’s go Alfred but I want to hurry back for my surprise.” She jumped into Daren’s arms and kissed him. They said love you to each other then Alfred teleported them to the village of alchemists. “ We are here to get a potion to cure Edwin. After he is cured he can train you. Even though James is gone you will still have enemies.” said Alfred. “ Do you know why Daren wanted us out of the house? “ She asked. He was silent. “ Is he going to propose?” She asked. He still said nothing. " I knew it. I’m so happy!!!! “ She said as he hugged him.

“ So this will be the last day we can spend alone together, the last time I can kiss you.” Said Skye

“I know.” He said as he held her tighter, I shouldn’t have been romantic with you in the first place, but now I’m going to miss it. He said as he kissed her lips. She kissed him back deeply. “ I’ll always love you no matter what.” She said. “ I’ll always love you too.”

“ Let’s go see Diashi, he should have a potion that will cure Edwin. Now remember Edwin won’t remember what happened so we will have to remind him.” He said as they stepped into the potion shop.

A medium sized man with long black hair and deep blue eyes greeted them as they walked in.

“Hi Alfred and this must be Skye, I’ve heard a lot about you.” “I need your help, I need a potion to reverse a curse. My friend Edwin was cursed with having a nasty attitude towards everyone. Said Alfred. “No problem take this potion it will work instantly on him. Free of charge.” Said Diashi as he handed him the potion. “Thank you my friend, We have to go, thank you again” said Alfred. “ Bye said Skye. “Bye.” He replied.

“ Now we must go see Edwin.” Said Alfred as he kissed her again then they teleported and ended up in Edwin’s house. “ What are you lowlifes doing here?” He asked. "Drink this, your ex wife cursed you causing you to be mean to others.” He said as he handed him the potion. Edwin drank it down and the curse broke instantly. “Thank you both so much!” He said as he gave each of them a hug. “Your welcome but I must tell you something.” He said as he went on to tell him about the encounter at the castle.

“ I’m so sorry.” He said as he pulled Skye into a tight hug. Then he kissed her on her hand. “If you will forgive me I’d like to be your friend.” Said Edwin. “ I forgive you she said. “ You can train her after her wedding.” Said Alfred. “ Sounds good am I invited?” He asked.” Yes. “ said Skye. “ Yay.” He said. “Can I have a moment alone with Skye before I go back with her?. Asked Alfred. “Yes of course! I’ll step outside for a few.” Said Edwin as he walked outside and shut the door behind him. He pulled her close and kissed her deeply, she kissed him back and held on tightly.

“ This will be our last moment alone together, said Alfred. “ “I know said Skye as she started tearing up. “Don’t cry my beautiful girl, he paused. I wish you were my girl. I wish you could be my wife. I wish I would have found you instead of Daren. I know it’s awful to say and I have been a horrible person for being intimate with you”. He said as he kissed her, tears streaming down his face now.

“ You are the most wonderful person I’ve ever met and it’s my fault too, don’t cry.” She told him.

“I’ll always love you no matter what.” Said Alfred. “ I’ll always love you too, said Skye as she kissed him again.

“Let’s get home for your surprise.” Said Alfred. “ Ok let’s go say bye to Edwin first said Skye as they walked out to meet Edwin. “ We are going home, see you at the wedding said Skye. They hugged. “ See you. “ said Edwin. “ They teleported back.
