Martial dao and Spirit dao

697 Words
Yao's eyes turned red as he hurried down the slope… There was already no going back to the mountain top so either way, he had to find all means to leave the Zicuen mountain. He moved in huge strides, covering quite a distance under thirty seconds… But while he was in his haste, a terrifying chill crawled up his spine and he saw something akin to Fletcher…an arrow with a single fletching. The speed of arrival surpassed even that of the spear that had actually caused the mountain top to disintegrate. Yao's pupils shrank immediately knowing the implication of letting that arrow strike him. The next minute, the arrow was before him. Meanwhile, Yao's fingers flickered, drawing a familiar inscription of that spear from before. The third eye within his inner world spun, giving him a few seconds of foresight. One second, the single fletched arrow closed the distance between them. Another second, Yao's own insight of the spear took shape. A hazy form of that spear was conjured from his spirit energy, the strange violet patterns and the weird time essence that his mind's eye had absorbed from the river of time. And then a monstrous shockwave rolled out as the collision of both the single fletched arrow and his conjured spear created a deafening ring. It suddenly felt as if the universe itself was breaking as spatial c***k spread from one point of the world to another, causing a slight tremble. Yao's eyes widened in horror because… his spear had been destroyed and he was blasted backwards, luckily, it was out of the destruction range so he was only affected to the point of spitting out blood. The problem with Yao at the moment is… breaking through to the spirit realm. Once he finally enters that realm then even holding his breath would no longer matter. Stepping into that realm meant that he had shaken off some limitations of the mortal body which included the art of breathing, knowing that breathing alone can be a huge problem here in the mountain range. Yao would have decided to just break through to the spirit realm here, but he did not really want to spend more time under the terrifying power of time itself. He had eventually realised that most of these attacks were launched by the river of time itself. This is because Yao was still a mortal, and only a mortal cultivator cannot withstand the attack of the spirit. This is why he had to leave and yet, he couldn't leave until he's comprehended something. But the more he climbs down through the narrow pathway, the more he encounters stronger attacks. Yao took a deep breath and continued his journey — downwards. Later, he camped out at the base of the path that opened up like a cave. Then he slowly started to cultivate. The most startling realization is that… shaking off the martial dao and becoming a cultivator of the spirit dao is quite ambiguous. Transmuting true qi into spirit qi, training his true qi to an utmost level, transforming it into spirit qi, perceiving the spirit sea, cleave open the spirit ocean and reshape the spirit ocean. It was almost the same thing as borrowing the powers of heaven and earth to transform himself into a supreme spirit cultivator. And someone like Yao whose spirit energy is already monstrous would find it quite difficult to achieve this… not to talk of the fact that his spirit energy hasn't become an ocean yet. He needed the infinity stage of spirit energy control to accomplish that and he was still struggling to conclude with the Clarity stage. “I didn't imagine cultivation being so difficult.” He said, opening his eyes as he saw the sun dipping down the horizon… he had spent four hours of day cultivating but he did not know why the day still went on within the mountain range while outside, time was frozen. If it was then when Yao had been forced to fuse grains of spirit energy without the time suppression, then he would have likely grown old by now. He proceeded with his journey despite the dipping sunset.
