Yao could feel the distorted nature of time. Sometimes, he felt as if the distance was longer or shorter. He had entered from the top of Zicuen mountain so the only way to those ancient techniques is to find a path that leads beneath the mountain.
He found a path.
He started to make his way down… trusting Shang Fa that time was frozen on the outside world. The duel that is to happen in three days is not something that Yao had expected and if anything, Mo Shen had only sought him out just to make trouble from it.
Yao massaged his temples. He could feel insensitive headaches growing.
'Maybe, I can use this period to enter the clarity realm.’
Yao's third eye suddenly manifested and spirit energy spilled out of his palm, hovering into the inky black crevices of the mountain.
Spirit energy chased the darkness only gathering a bit of shadows since it wasn't a true source of light.
Then his spirit energy surged, each spirit grains lapping upon each other in a refined manner. No one would be able to notice the change, except Yao himself. His spirit energy had been rid of all impurities so now it was time to step into the clarity realm.
The only problem now is… how to go about it.
The third eye rotated rapidly, bringing insight… except, Yao did not grasp it almost immediately. He just instinctively did what his heart told him to, for example…
Fuse the spirit grains.
Maybe fusion would lead one directly to the clarity realm.. that is, fusing the grains of spirit energy together pushes it to another transformation. That transformed spirit essence should be the next realm.
Yao was intrigued as his rotating third eye slowed down and gradually came to a stop. Marching forward, his feet hitting the sloped mountain range, he started to fuse these spirit grains.
It took a considerable amount of time for just two grains of spirit energies to fuse. The purity aspect is just the first step and fusion being the last step. Fusion doesn't simply imply two grains… it comprises all grains of spirit energy becoming one complete entity. This final step pushes one directly into the clarity stage of spirit energy control.
Yao breathed in and time distorted. How long had he been inside this mountain? Two days… he had been counting the time, but after counting almost one week, he lost complete track of time.
Below the slope was a cloud of mist which told a tale of an endless journey down this mountain.
A sigh.
He did not stop fusing the grains of spirit energy. He started by fusing two… but now he progressed to fusing four grains or even six.
Yao realized that, the result of fusing two grains and the result of fusing four grains were completely different in and of themselves, likewise the fusion of six grains. This probably means that to maintain a complete entity, all grains had to be fused. However, Yao possessed terrifying spirit energy so he knew that fusing all grains would take almost a thousand years or more to accomplish.
Yao did not have such luxury of time but here inside the Zicuen mountain where time is distorted and frozen on the outside world, he could fuse these grains. Yao was completely sure about it. All he had to do is, calm down and focus on the fusion.
Time passed rapidly. Not that it did in the outside world. It should have been more than two months already but the river of time which nested at the bottom of the mountain made it impossible for time to pass. Yao could feel it… he was under something known as Time Suppression.
Time suppression made his journey endless, made his time stop and made his worldview broken.
Just a modicum of his self awareness snapped but he continued to fuse his spirit grains. His feet turned cold under the marble floor, inviting a chill.
“Breath Yao, breath.”
He did not stop fusing.
Indeed, every step of cultivation is difficult. Although he had been blessed by the orb on the start of his cultivation journey, receiving boundless spirit energy, getting terrifying insight… widespread transformation and so on… but still yet, it doesn't promise to be all rainbow and sunshine at every moment.
This was one difficult task— fusion. He continued to fuse tiny grains of spirit energy together.
Two years.
The Time suppression continued.
His path remained endless.
His mind, broken.
His thoughts were barely holding up because of one particular action— fusion.
He did not stop fusing, despite losing his sense of self.
Five years.
His mind's eye trembled dramatically, those violent patterns taking a drastic change.
These violet patterns actually cleared his acupoints for him, something he should have been the one to do by himself which is very strange.
Yao did not think of anything else other than fusing his spirit energy grains together.
Twenty years.
His mind collapsed.
Yet, they burned with wild energy. He did not stop fusing and then, his broken mind gathered itself, his sense of cognition activating itself.
Finally, forty years.
It was when this spirit energy came together as a single entity. And then— clarity.
He's stepped into the clarity realm.
The clarity realm is supposed to fix back whatever has been broken in his mind. The moment he stepped into that realm, he regained himself and Yao opened his ancient eyes.
The torment he had gone through did not easily leave, but he was in a much better state.
He then peered at the sloped mountain and pondered on how to break the time suppression.
