While Elizabeth was still in Aldo, her father had asked Daniel to accompany him to the various meetings and functions to introduce him to the duties of a king. Since his eldest daughter, Elizabeth, was going to marry the king of Aldo, she would be removed from the succession line in Sdel, and Daniel would then be his rightful heir. By involving him now, the king hoped Daniel would see and learn his benevolent relationship with his subjects; he hoped that he would follow in his father’s footsteps when the time came for him to assume the title.
