Fifty walks with death

Chapter 4

The beginning of the new question.

"He's still unconscious." I heard a girls voice near me. "Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks for taking care of him." A boy said.

What is going on? Where am I? I slowly open my eyes and saw a boy who is standing in front of me. I can only see his black shirt because he is not facing me. I try to sit but my back still hurts. The boy look at me when I made a sound. He is familiar? He looks like my classmate? "In the name of Jesus you're awake."  He said. Oh, now I know who he is. "Charles?" I spell-out his name in confuse tone. "Yeah why?" He ask. He walks towards me while holding a two mugs. He sit on the bed and look at me. "Drink this. You might feel better after drinking this." He said and gave me the other mug. I get the mug and look what's in it. It's a dark green liquid. I smell it and it doesn't smell good. "The smell isn't good but I promise to you, it taste like heaven." He said and sip into his Mug. "Is that a coffee?" I ask him. "This?" He pointed out his mug. "Yeah it's a coffee." He answered.

I drink the green liquid in the mug, and it tastes like hell! "What the hell?! I thought you say it taste heaven!" I said and put down the mug on the floor. "Yeah it taste Heaven after drinking that." He said and laugh. "Did you mean, I'm going to heaven after drinking this? "I ask and laugh.

I look around, and we're inside a room that made of bamboos. Where am I? Where are we? He gave me his coffee, and he said that it can be my alternative drink after drinking the medicine. "Where are we by the way?" I ask him after I finished drinking the coffee. "We're inside the game!" He answered and smiled.

Game? What game?

"What game exactly?" I ask. "Blue Whale. Do you remember the red envelope?" He asks. Oh, now I remember. "How'd you get here?" I ask him. "I solve the riddle that was written on the card." He answered.

Oh, like how I enter the door inside the TV screen, it's impossible at first, but I can't do anything now.

A man came in and he look to Charles. "See you later Jack." He said and walk out. I look to the man, and he looks like 60 or 50 years old man. He has a white hair but his face is clear like you're not going to see any acne and wrinkle on his face, he has a beard too, and he is wearing a suit, a black one.

"You feeling good Jack?" He ask. He sat down on the bed where I was laying down. He look to my eyes. "Yeah I'm fine, who are you?" I said and tried to sit on the bed but I can't, it's hard. "I am Dr. Carter, I am the one who gave you the red envelope. I build this BW company. I own it." He answered and help me sit. "Why I am here?" I ask. "Because you have question that no one can answer. You know Jack, this world that I build has the answer to your question, but you should be the one who will discover it. We picked hundreds of special person who's gonna play the game, and you are one of them." He answered.

Special? I am not special!

"Special? Why? Because of my power? Yeah, I don't believe that." I said. "You're not special because of your telekinesis, you are special because you are Jack, you are Jack Brenner." He said. "Don't manipulate your self Jack. Be yourself, don't be others. There is a reason why you have those power like you say every day, everything has a reason even the bad one. Just wait and you'll see, by the way you can't get all the answer to your question if you didn't complete all the task." He continued and stand. He smiled to me before he went out to the room.

Should I be happy? After completing the game all of my questions in my mind will be answered. This is what I'm waiting for, the answer.

I walk towards the mirror. s**t, I look hell. My hair is messy. I'm still wearing the white dress that I'm wearing yesterday. The dress that the patients in the hospital wearing.

"Wear this." I was shock when I heard Charles voice that makes me c***k the mirror using my mind again. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you." He said and give me the clothes and shoes. "Where did you get this?" I ask him. "Dr. Carter give me this and said that I should give this to you." He said. "Thanks."

I went to the bathroom to change.

"Hey do I look good?" I ask Charles opinion after changing. "You look great." He said. The clothes that he gave me is a vest with a white plain shirt, blue jeans and a white high-cut shoes.

We went out the room...

And I was amaze on what I saw. Lot of people are walking, talking and some of them are playing. The place is just a plain grass no trees just 10 houses, or should I say room? There's a Well at the middle. The place is big enough for hundreds of players in the game.

" You are the only person we're waiting to start the game. You're like asleep for a weeks." He said. "What the hell! Weeks?!" I said in shock. Weeks? Is he serious? I just felt sleeping for one night! "Yes. We all are asleep for weeks when we came here." He said. Oh, at least I'm not the only one who was asleep for weeks. "Hi Charles." A girl greet him. "Hi Nadia, by the way this is Jack. My friend." He introduces me to Nadia. They talk in random things and all I can do is to observe and look to Nadia

Nadia is a black American girl, she looks kind, generous and a funny person. She's slim and tall, her hair is curl and her eyes are pure dark brown that makes her eyes look black.

"Nice to meet you Jack. Wait a minute, are you Jack Brenner?! The one who has Telekinesis?!!" She said and smile. "Um, why?" I ask in confusion, how does she know? I look to Charles, and he is just looking to Nadia. "Because you are everywhere! I mean even in Puerto Rico you are in our TV screen! You are famous!" She said.

Famous? Wait! Washington to Puerto Rico?! That's insane!

"Yeah, Nadia. I think we should go now. Thanks by the way." Charles said. "Don't mind her." He said when we walk away from her. There is something wrong, I just felt it. I look around to observe. "What's the date today Charles?!" I ask because I always want to know the date every day to stay updated. "It's June 3rd 2043" he said. Wait what?! I stop walking and Charles stop walking too. I look at him, with my serious face. " Are you joking?! 2043? Is that even a number?!" I said. "What is wrong?" He ask.

That was insane! 1 year? "Wait, did you remember the Party?!" I ask him. "What Party Jack?" He ask but he looks like giving a sign because of his eyes.. "My birthday Party Charles! On my 16th birthday!" I said in a loud voice.

Everyone stops talking and look at us, and they laugh. "Yow Jack! Did you hit your head that hard?" A man said. I look to Charles when he get my wrist and walk me back inside our room. He lock the door and look to me.

"Don't you ever say that word again! No one knows their birthday here! I don't know why." He said. "What do you mean no one knew their birthday?" I ask. "Because birthday doesn't exist to them Jack! Something is going on here! Those people doesn't know the word birthday they didn't even know their age!" He said. "So don't say another word about birth! Pretend like you didn't even know yours!" Charles continued.

No birthdays to them? Even age? What is going on here? Even me! Yesterday is May 20, 2042! But now? Its already June 3, 2043?! What the hell?!

It's just insane waking up knowing that you passed another year without knowing what happened. I'm now sure that there is something wrong here. No birthday and age, it's just another word of mystery.

"But did you remember my 16th birthday party?!" I ask him again. "Yes I remember but it was last year! Before you went missi--" he stopped and put his both hands to his mouth like he was shock. "What? Before I went missing? " I said to Charles. "We can't talk loud here! We don't know if they can hear us. But whatever magic or things that the BW Staff put in our brain, it didn't work! I don't know why!" He said. "So we should stay quiet, and we better not to be talkative here! We should pretend that we forgot our past! Act like we don't know anything." Charles said.

What did he just said I went missing? What else I didn't know? Do I need to act like I don't know anything to be safe? I took a deep breath and look to Charles. "You are the only person I trust Charles! Please don't disappoint me. We need each other! We need to win this thing together and the question in our mind will be answered, soon." I said and tap Charles shoulder while looking at his eyes.

I felt Charles know something that I didn't, he is protecting something from me, or should I say hiding something from me?

"Welcome to Blue whale! Everyone! Now all of you are complete, so we can start the game anytime! There are 50 tasks that you need to complete before you get your price. This game leads you to a 50 doors but it is placed inside the first door. Once you enter the game, there's no turning back and you can not open the door that you already enter or been through. You can't skip the task that has given to you. If you can't finish the task, you'll be stuck in that place until you die. This game can be only given to the person who is chosen. Every doors has a level, and challenge. This game is a survival game!" The announcer said.

We went outside and all the players are not moving, and they're just listening to what the announcer are saying.  "The second door is hiding. Once the ground is turning black you should find the door that will leads you to the third challenge! If all the grass turned black it will turn into fire and if you didn't find the door all of you will be burned alive!" The announcer said.

All the players talk like they are complaining.

"If you are asking where's the first door is. The first door is the door that leads you here! That's why there are clues in all of your cards! That is the first challenge and all of you survive!" The announcer continued.

" So let the game begin."
