Marie
We all got situated after introductions, ready to get down to business. I couldn’t believe my sweet little Ollie is so close to danger. I tried so hard to keep my baby away from his psychotic father and now we are going to have to go to war. I tried not to cry at the thought. I am not a big fan of violence, but I understand it’s necessary to keep everyone safe.
I looked down at the wiggling toddler in my arms, watching him eat his celery stick happily. I gently placed him on the ground, but not before he snatched a carrot stick as well. I watched him walk up to my dad, holding the half eaten celery stick and carrot stick up in the air, displaying his treasures proudly. My dad chuckled, picking Ollie up, placing him on his lap. I looked back down at my hands, looking at the scars that Damion left on me when he tortured me. The scars have faded, but the memories were still fresh in my mind. Two years of torture that demon put me through. Two years of him having me chained in a basement, beating me, starving me, mentally abusing me. He r***d me every day, in hopes to produce an heir. He never explained why he was doing any of it. But I knew it was bad. The only good thing to come out of his torment was Oliver.
“Marie?” Joey gently places his hand on mine and squeezes, breaking me out of my horrible memories.
“I lost you there for a second. Are you okay?” His deep voice, filled with concern. I look up and nod.
“I am fine, I just want to keep Oliver safe.”
My dad raises his brow at me, knowing exactly where I went. I give him a reassuring smile, letting him know I was okay.
Tally cleared her throat. Immediately all eyes were on her.
“So, let’s get show on the road. If the winds are correct, we don’t have much time.” Tally says.
“The winds?” I ask, tilting my head in confusion.
She got a mischievous smile on her face.
“The winds talk to me. They have been talking me since I was a little girl. They tell me secrets.”Tally explains, giving me a wink.
“That’s so cool,” I say to myself.
“Anyways, the winds are saying Damion is preparing an army to try an retrieve Oliver. We must get allies to help.”
“I can assist with that. I know Alpha Kane and I am sure he will help out by sending some warriors to protect Marie’s property. I am sure my amazing brothers and sisters will be able to help too,” Joey chimes in. Almost on cue we hear the front door shut, and we all turn to look who is walking into the kitchen. My jaw drops to the floor as four of the most beautiful people I have ever seen, except Joey of course, walk in. I feel like I am in an episode of America’s Next Top Model or something. They all look like a good mix between Gwen and Tom.
Joey stands up, pulling me up with him. He wraps his arm around my waist and gently guides me to the the group.
“Marie, these are some of my siblings. This Brian, Devon, Hollie, and Grace,” he introduces them with a goofy grin on his face.
“What a pleasure! I’m Marie, and over there is Oliver,” I point to the babe on my dad’s lap. Before I can get another word in, Brutus comes walking up, sniffing all of them. Without warning he jumps up on Brian, resting his massive paws on Brian’s shoulders. Bru c***s his head, then lands a slobbery kiss on His cheek.
“And that is Brutus,” I start giggling uncontrollably. I can hear the siblings snicker next me as Brian gently pushes Brutus off of him. Bru huffs his disapproval, then trots off to lay near my dad with a dejected look on his face. Hollie walks over and pats Bru on the head.
“It’s okay pup, he is just an asshole,” Hollie laughs as she moves to give him an ear scratch. Bru sits up and instantly starts wagging his tail.
“Anyways, Marie, it’s great to finally meet you. Mom has been singing your praises since you had lunch together. And Oliver is so cute! I just want to eat him up!” Grace says as she gushes over Ollie.
Ollie squirms his way off of my dad’s lap and grabs Grace’s leg. She bends down and picks him up, kissing him on the cheek. He grabs her face, planting a sloppy wet kiss on her cheek, making her laugh. She is the only one in the family with long bright red hair, but has the same stunning eyes as Joey. I could tell she was a kind, gentle soul. Bru seems to be sticking to Hollie like glue, watching her every move. Hollie has dark brown hair, with the same bright blue eyes as her dad. She seems to enjoy giving Brutus all the attention he demands.
I turn to Brian and Devon, they could easily be triplets with Joey, except they both have deep blue eyes. I try reaching my hand out for a shake. What I didn’t expect was them both giving me a similar bear hug, like their dad. I can’t help but laugh at their antics. Joey gently pulls me to him, seeming to get a little possessive over his brothers touching me. He lets out a low warning growl, which makes me smile. I place my hand on his chest, seeing him calm down immediately. I drag him back to the chairs to continue our talk.
Brian and Devon both go up to Gwen and give her a kiss on the cheek before taking a seat, as well.
“So who’s got a plan to get this bastard?” Devon asks with a devilish glimmer in his eye.
“We were just making one. I think we all should take shifts watching over Marie’s property. I also told them I can call Alpha Kane, and see if he can help us out. I am sure he has more connections. Do you guys know anyone who might be willing to help?” Joey asks his siblings.
“I can get ahold of the vampires. I know Victor likes a good fight. I also bet he has a couple of lower demons who probably want to fight Damion. I can ask Victor if he knows anyone else,” Devon explains.
“I can get ahold of the witches from my former coven. And try to rally some of my warlock friends. This battle affects all species, so I would get as many people as possible. Damion sounds like the type to do things in a big way. Richard, dear, do you know if the angels would be willing to help?” Tally questions while rubbing her hand along his arm.
“I would have to go check, but I am assuming if it has to do with demons, they are in. Especially the Archangel Michael, he lives for killing those hellhounds.” My dad says with a smirk on his face. Gabriel rolls his eyes at my dad’s comment.
I am trying to wrap my head around what my dad is saying. I am trying to come to terms with the fact I am part angel. And the fact that my baby could possibly destroy the world one day. I take a sip of tea quietly while trying to process everything. Everyone around me are discussing who to call, and making plans to keep Oliver and I safe. I stand up, causing everyone to stop talking and look at me.
“I am sorry to interrupt, but can someone please tell me about this prophecy now?”
