Third person's POV Damon watched as Andrew led the mysterious woman away, making sure to give him the stink eye along the line. It was silly of Andrew to think he was there to steal his shine or even take away his performer but it was something Andrew was capable of thinking—the Beta was like that. Andrew aside, Damon felt his eyes follow the duo's movement as they moved to another section of the party and he wondered why he found a blind girl interesting. She was definitely not his type. Hell, she would dim in comparison to Scarlet Jones, who had been chosen for him by everyone but himself. As the soon to be Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack, Damon had responsibilities that didn't take into consideration his choices or his taste in women. The throne was rightfully his as the only son of the late Alpha and the heir to the throne, but there were conditions he had to meet before his crown could finally be handed over to him. The late Alpha's death had been sudden and, with the seat now vacant, Damon had been tasked with getting married to the daughter of the Alpha of the neighbouring pack. His marriage to Scarlet was necessary for the union of both packs and for the throne of his clan. Damon knew he had no other choice but to abide by the rules of the clan that the ever-vigilant council of elders had placed in front of him. He would take his rightful place on the throne as the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack the moment he finalized things in the mating ceremony. Scarlet was to be his Luna and nothing was going to stand in the way of that. And looking at the blind girl or feeling whatever it was that he was feeling as his eyes lingered on her small frame, was completely out of the question. The moon goddess was in charge of matching two wolves to one another with the mate bond and even if Damon had not felt anything all through the times he had spent with Scarlet, he was certain she was going to become his mate. "Aren't you going to follow your sister?" Damon asked firmly as he turned his attention to the boy that had arrived with the blind singer, in a bid to distract himself from his duties that were actively haunting him. The mating ceremony was due to be held in a few days and the fact that the coronation was followed closely by made him very uneasy and any distraction was highly welcomed. Realizing the boy was looking everywhere but at him, he drew closer to him as he spat out another question. "Are you not supposed to take care of your sister, young boy?" Damon fired at the boy who was gawking at the view in front of him. His eyes glistened in the sun as he drank at the sight of the obvious luxury that was spread out in front of him. If the siblings' tattered clothes had not given their real identity away, the look of utter awe in his eyes was bound to do the trick. Even the blind could see that they were both way out of their league. Damon was seeing it clearly as he placed himself in front of the boy, blocking his vision. The boy let out a small cry of protest as he lifted his eyes to meet Damon's. Coupled with annoyance, Damon could see another emotion he had not seen for quite a long time. Being Alpha's son had taken lots of privileges from him and even though more had replaced them, he sometimes wished he could get the ones he had lost. The defiance of youth was one of those things he had lost. Strength and courage, was what was highly required of a leader but defiance? That luxury had been stripped off of him right after his mother died and, from that point, he had been trained to rule. But this boy was different, Damon could almost see him mapping out different ways to rid himself of the man standing in his way and it made Damon feel a strange longing. "Who are you?" The boy demanded, squaring up with the six-foot-tall man whose eyes were boring holes into him. It was as if he was daring Damon to say something that he didn't like, so he would use that as an opportunity to pounce on him. There was no mistake in his stance, this was the true vigor of a youth. Tilting his head slightly to the side, Damon sized up the boy in front of him and realized he was anything but a boy. The person in front of him looked like a man that had been weathered and shaped by life's circumstances and he had become rock hard by everything that had been thrown at him. This was no boy, this was a man willing to do anything for the people he loved. It didn't long for Damon to decide on his next course of action as he flashed the boy—who was a man—a quick smile. "My name is Damon Luxembourg and I am the soon to be Alpha of this kingdom." Damon didn't deem the last part necessary, but he knew his father would turn in his grave if he had not done the introduction properly. Surprise along with fear masked the kid's face as he quickly lowered his eyes to the ground, afraid for his life. "I'm so sorry, your highness," he blurted out, unable to meet Damon's piercing gaze. "I didn't know who you were, please forgive me." Damon could see his lips quivering as he trembled in fear of what was to follow. "And who are you?" Damon inquired, catching the kid completely off guard. It was definitely not the response he had been expecting and the look of utter disbelief on his face said so. "It's fine," Damon said soothingly as he placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. "You can talk to me." Slowly, the kid lifted his eyes to meet Damon as he mumbled out his name, "Anthony." His voice was merely a whisper and Damon furrowed his eyebrows in response to it. "My name is Anthony, your highness and my sister's name is Susan." He added, lifting his face up till his eyes met Damon's. "My sister is a singer, your highness," Anthony continued, completely claiming Damon's attention. "She has been blind for a long time and music is all she has," he paused then sniffled slightly. "Music is all we have." His eyes went back to the ground, as a tear trickled down his face. When he saw them, Damon had been confused as to why the siblings had gone through so much trouble to bring themselves to a place they clearly wouldn't be welcomed to, but as he looked at Anthony, he had a little bit of understanding. Unlike himself and people like Andrew who were at a higher level in the kingdom, Anthony and his sister were not privileged to have the kind of life they had been born into. Damon felt a wave of pity fill him to the brim as he watched Anthony fight back tears and it made him wonder if that was what he had felt towards his sister. Just as he was about to ask Anthony more questions, Andrew's voice sounded through the speakers, claiming everyone's attention, including his. "Pay attention, everyone!" Andrew yelled out unnecessarily. "The moment you've all been waiting for has finally arrived." He announced with lots of enthusiasm. "I'd like you guys to meet the woman who gave me a good insight into life along with an amazing view of it even though she can't actually see any of it, " he paused for dramatic effect and Damon rolled his eyes. "Ladies and gentle people, help me welcome our esteemed performer, Susan!" A round of applause erupted in the yard as everyone cheered in anticipation of the woman who—according to Andrew—had given him another view of life. For someone as conceited as Andrew to give such good remarks about the singer, the entire audience were eager to gain said insight. Anthony's face lit up as Andrew guided Susan to the stage and it piqued Damon's interest. Gasps filled the air as everyone confirmed the singer was indeed blind, but Damon was anything but surprised, all he was interested in was hearing her sing. Slowly, her hand circled on the mic as she placed her cane in front of her, resting on her knee. "Thank you so much for having me," She squeaked out in the most angelic voice Damon had ever heard in his entire life. "And thank you for wanting to listen to me." She added quietly before turning her attention to the mic that was still firmly held in her hand. Her small movements made the mic respond with loud feedback and it made her jump slightly. "You've got this, Suze!" Someone screamed from the crowd and Damon turned around in time to see Anthony standing with his fists clenched at his side, cheering his sister on. Almost as soon as Damon's eyes left Susan's frame, they returned with a flash when she opened her mouth and started singing.
