A World turned upside down

The following Monday, Karen arrived at work to find the office abuzz with whispers and speculation. She didn’t pay much attention. Her desk was filled up with work that needed to be done. She had just begun to settle down in her part of the office when her manager called an impromptu meeting.

“As many of you know,” her manager announced, “we’ve been undergoing some leadership changes. I’d like to introduce Mark Hayes, our new CEO."

Karen froze as Mark walked into the room, the same man from the storm. He was just as composed and commanding as he had been that night, but now, with the added weight of authority. Their eyes met briefly, and Karen saw a flicker of recognition in his gaze before he addressed the team.

As he addressed the team, she couldn't help but stare at him. She couldn't believe that she met him the previous night. He was a really Handsome man. Mark was everything the company needed—dynamic, innovative, and undeniably charismatic.

Karen couldn’t help but be drawn to him, though she knew how dangerous it was. Office romances, especially with the boss, were a recipe for disaster. She made up her mind to avoid him as much as possible.

"Karen...White???"

Her thought were interrupted abruptly.

"Yes!, That's me", She responded quickly.

Mark stared hard at her. She was gorgeous and the color of her eyes were absolutely beautiful.

"You will lead the team on this Project. I trust you to do a great Job," he said finally.

"Right", she responded.

He finally dismissed everyone and quickly pairs were made discussing the recent happenings in the office and the New Handsome CEO.

She had made up her mind to avoid him but when Mark assigned her to lead a high-stakes project under his direct supervision, Karen found herself in a position she couldn’t refuse.
