*Sahil’s POV*
Ever since Alina left, the packhouse felt more like a funeral home. The mood had become overly somber and gloomy. Alpha Daniyal handed all of the responsibilities of the Alpha over to me, and although I refused to have a formal Alpha initiation ceremony, everyone in the pack has accepted me as the new Alpha of the pack. I can’t say that I’m totally happy about the situation though, because I know deep down that the rightful Alpha of this pack is Alina. I can’t help but stare at the birthday card she gave me last year, I keep it in the drawer of my desk and read it whenever I feel sad or overwhelmed by the changes.
“ Happy Birthday, brother! You are so loved, and I pray that success continues to kiss your feet. My only request is that you don’t forget this little sister of yours when you become a big-shot lol…”
This big brother hasn’t forgotten you Lena. I am just waiting for a sign that you need my help. As per the laws, even though I am an Alpha now, I cannot interfere in another pack’s affairs. Especially when it involves taking a Luna away from her pack. “I just want a sign that you are okay,” I mumble low to myself, as I lean back in my chair and rub my hands over my face to try to clear the frustration away, I hear a low knock on the door. An omega appears slowly afterwards. She slowly makes her way to my desk and hands me an envelope. “This was left at the house’s gate, Alpha.” I stare at the white envelope. “For Alpha Sahil’s eyes only.” I nod my head to dismiss her. After I hear the door close, I quickly open the envelope. And as I read the letter, my heart drops, but anger quickly rises to replace that.
“Alpha Malik has not been treating Luna Alina well. He has locked her away in a separate room and makes her take care of his bastard child. If you want to save her, meet me at the edge of blue swan lake at midnight tonight. COME ALONE.”
THAT’S IT!! I knew it, I could feel it in my heart that something was amiss. My sister, the true heiress of the Gold Crescent Pack should be treated as a queen, not as some lowly maid. I am going to have a solid reason to take Lena away from that asshole once and for all. The Elders will support me now that I am about to get my hands on solid proof that I have a valid reason for declaring war against another pack. “Don’t worry Lena. I will rescue you soon,” I said quietly to myself.
*THIRD POV*
Later that night, Sahil left the packhouse at around 11:30 pm, while everyone went to bed. He looked up at the house, and saw Alpha Daniyal’s and Luna Zara’s room light still on. He shook his head, as he started to walk out of the gate. It pained Sahil to see them lose sleep, over worrying about Lena’s safety. At least tonight he was about to make the first step to rectify this horrible situation. When Sahil reached the head of the forest, he took his clothing off, placed it in a drawstring bag, and then shifted. His brown wolf, Ignis, let out a howl, and shook out his fur, before picking up the bag and running towards the lake. It didn’t take long for Ignis to reach the lack, but he started to get anxious. “Sahil, you must be careful. The one you are to meet is not who he is.” “What do you mean, Ignis?” “I can’t say further. Be careful.” Sahil shifted back, and quickly put his clothes back on. He tried to contact Ignis again, but Ignis blocked himself from Sahil. Ignis was acting really weird, and it was 12:07 am and no one was around the lake.
Sahil was getting frustrated, and after waiting for another 30 minutes, just as he was about to leave, he heard a voice. “So it’s true. You care greatly about our Luna.” Sahil turned around quickly and saw a cloaked figure standing a few feet away from him. He was about to approach the figure when he spoke again. “Don’t come further,” he said. “I did as you asked,” Sahil began, “now tell me what you know about the heiress!” “She is no longer the heiress, as you are now Alpha.” The cloaked figure replied. “Will you get to the point already, or did you just come to repeat things that I already f--ing know?” Sahil was beginning to lose his patience. “I kept you waiting to see if you stayed true to your word,” the cloaked-figure said. “You have been true, and so will I.” “The Luna is in bad shape. She has not been marked yet so you still have a chance to save her. I will contact you again, and when you receive my note, you will attack that castle that very night.” Sahil was about to reply when the cloak-figure vanished just as suddenly as he appeared. What the bloody hell is happening? Sahil thought to himself. He was confused and didn’t know what to make of everything. Only one thing was clear, a war was coming. But, he welcomed it, as this was the only way to save his sister.
