*Sahil POV*
This morning has already been stressful because I have received news that Alpha Daniyal and Luna Zara have come down with some sort of illness. It makes it worse that they refuse to eat or talk to anyone. I believe that the worry of their daughter is what’s making them ill. Since that night in the forest, I have not received a single note or any other type of correspondence from the mysterious well-wisher. I don’t want to believe that person, because my judgment is telling me that if a person does not have the guts enough to show his face, how can you trust his word? But, the minute I receive any sign, I’ll be ready to attack. I have already informed my father, the Beta, and Uncle Junaid, the Delta of a possibility of a rescue mission. Their trust in me to make the right decision, besides our mutual loyalty and love for Alina is the only thing keeping me motivated and ready for this battle. Otherwise, I have a bad feeling regarding this entire situation. Mom has been acting weird as well. She disappears for hours at a time and spends most of her time here with the Alpha and Luna. I know that she must be trying to help them, but the fact that she is blocking me from feeling her emotions is just a tad bit suspicious. Look at me! I’m even starting to suspect my own mother. I just need to make sure this situation is legit and ensure that Alina is safe. The minute I verify that I think I’ll feel a little better.
There is suddenly a knock on the door, and I see Uncle Junaid peek in, “Come in,” I say as I wave my hand at him. The look on his face tells me something weird is up. He is holding a silver envelope. He hands it to me while saying, “it has Alina’s sent on it.” I take it --more like snatch it from him -- and rip it open quickly. The first thing I see is an intricate silver and black invitation to Alina’s Luna Ceremony, I turn the invitation around and I notice that a message is etched into the thick invitation. It’s invisible to the eye, but you can make out the impressions. I quickly yell for an Omega to bring me some ink or paint. I take the ink that carefully stroke it into the carving and soon enough a full message is visible.
“ Brother, I had no choice but to send you this message with the invitation, to avoid suspicion. I’m in deep trouble. I don’t want to become the Luna of the Dark Moon pack, but Alpha Malik is a brute. I need your help. At midnight, come to the side rose garden, I will meet you and we can escape. I can’t live with him. Please help me. I will await you.”
My blood boiled as I read this. I quickly started mind-linking my trusted warriors and the Beta, to come to my office quickly. Uncle Junaid snatched the invitation and started reading it as well. “But Sahil, how do we know that the message is actually from Alina? Could it be a trap?” I never stopped to think about that. Just as I was contemplating all of the events that have taken place over the past few weeks, all of the warriors arrived. “I have been contacted by an anonymous so-called well-wisher of our heiress Alina, and now I have received a note from her as well. She is in grave danger, and it is our duty to rescue her. We will be going to the Luna Ceremony that takes place tonight, but not for the festivities. We will be in the outer rose garden waiting to extricate Heiress Alina and bring her back home to safety. This is a do or die mission. Anyone wants to back out?!” “No Alpha! We are ready!” I smile with satisfaction, that my warriors trust me. But just to satisfy Uncle Junaid’s doubt, I came up with a plan. “I have a way to verify that the note is from Lena,” I say as I reach into my drawer and pull out the birthday card I read to myself almost every day. I open it and lay it side by side near the invitation we just received. “See,” I say as I compare them, “the handwriting is a match.” “And, you said it yourself Uncle Junaid, the envelope has Lena’s sent on it.” He looks at me and just nods. I can see it in his eyes that he still has a lingering doubt but he won’t go against me and my judgment. After making some plans with the warriors, they leave and I’m left to my thoughts again. This is going to get ugly, but for my sister, I can burn down the entire world.
