Evening

As they stepped inside the house, Avni's eyes widened in awe. The interior was just as breathtaking as the exterior, with beautifully decorated walls, high ceilings, and a sprawling layout that seemed to go on forever. The air was thick with the scent of fresh flowers and polished wood, and Avni couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder as she took it all in. As they entered the living room, Avni's gaze fell upon a man sitting on a plush couch, his eyes fixed intently on a stack of files in front of him. He looked up as they approached, his gaze narrowing slightly as he took in Avni's presence. Aayush smiled warmly and introduced her to his father, who nodded curtly in response. "She's my friend Avni," Aayush said, his voice confident and reassuring. "She's here to help me with my studies." Avni smiled politely and greeted Aayush's father, who returned her smile with a slightly guarded expression. "Hello, sir," Avni said, trying to sound respectful and composed. But as Aayush's father turned his attention back to Aayush, his expression turned slightly stern. "You should have known better than to wait until the last minute to ask for help," he said, his voice firm but controlled. "If you had doubts in your studies, you should have spoken up sooner, so you would have had more time to prepare." Aayush looked sheepish, but he stood his ground. "Sorry, Dad, but Avni is here to help me clear my doubts," he said, his voice defensive. As they entered the house, Aayush's father couldn't help but notice Avni. He watched her with an intense gaze, his eyes scanning every detail of her appearance. But Avni and Aayush were oblivious to his gaze, too caught up in their own conversation. As they made their way to Aayush's bedroom, Avni couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She had never been to Aayush's house before, and she was curious to see how he lived. When they entered his room, Avni's eyes widened in amazement. The room was huge, with high ceilings and large windows that let in a flood of natural light. The walls were painted a soothing shade of blue, and the furniture was modern and sleek. But what really caught Avni's attention was the impeccable organization of the space. Every book was neatly stacked on the shelves, every paper was filed away in its proper place, and every surface was spotless. "It's beautiful," Avni exclaimed, her eyes scanning the room in wonder. "Your room is more organized than mine. You keep your room so neat." Aayush chuckled, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "Thanks, but I have to confess, it's not all my doing," he said, his voice low and teasing. "The servants take care of most of it." Avni's face flushed with embarrassment as she realized her mistake. She had forgotten that Aayush came from a wealthy family, and that he would have servants to take care of the household chores. She felt a little awkward, but Aayush just laughed and smiled, putting her at ease. "Okay, give me your books so I can take a look," Avni said, trying to composed herself. "Yeah, I'll bring you something while you're working," Aayush said, turning to leave the room. But Avni stopped him, her hand reaching out to catch his arm. "No, Aayush, no need to bother," she said, her voice firm but polite. Aayush turned back to her, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "Why not? You're my guest, and it's the least I can do," he said, his voice persuasive. Avni shook her head, feeling a little uncomfortable with the offer. "I'm okay, really," she said, trying to reassure him. But Aayush was insistent. "You also bring delicious food for me and now its my time," he said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. Avni laughed, feeling a little exasperated. "Aayush, I'm okay, really," she said, trying to convince him. But Aayush just smiled and said, "But I'm not okay with it. Wait, I'll be right back," and with that, he left the room, leaving Avni to wonder what he was up to. Avni called out to him, but he just kept going, leaving her to sigh in frustration. She shrugged and decided to make the most of the time, settling in to go through Aayush's books and notes. As Avni was deeply engrossed in her work, Aayush quietly entered the room, not wanting to startle her. He was taken aback by her intense focus, her eyes scanning the pages of the book with a look of utmost concentration. He couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for her dedication. As he entered the room, Aayush had made a conscious effort to keep the door wide open, wanting to ensure that Avni felt comfortable and safe in his presence. He respected her boundaries and was determined to make her feel at ease in his home. "Aavni," Aayush said softly, trying to get her attention without breaking her stride. Avni's head jerked up, her eyes locking onto Aayush's as she smiled warmly at him. "So, from where do you want to start?" she asked, her gaze drifting back to the book in front of her. Aayush settled into the chair in front of Avni, as she started to teach, Aayush found himself becoming more and more engaged. Her explanations were clear and concise, and she had a way of breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand terms. He was impressed by her teaching skills. As they studied together, Aayush couldn't help but steal glances at Avni. He was drawn to her intelligence and her passion for teaching, and he found himself feeling more and more attracted to her. Despite already being familiar with the concepts, Aayush found that Avni's explanations helped to clarify his understanding even further. She had a way of making complex ideas seem simple and intuitive. Aayush's eyes sparkled with concern as he gazed at Avni. "You didn't have something," he said, his voice tinged with a gentle reprimand. Avni smiled and gave an excuse, "I'll have something later, first we'll study." But Aayush was insistent. "No, have something till then I'll go through this," he said, handing her a plate of snacks. As Avni took the plate, her eyes wandered to a photo on the desk. It was a picture of Aayush and his mother, and Avni's eyes widened in admiration. "Your mom was pretty," she said, her voice filled with sincerity. Aayush's eyes softened as he gazed at the photo. "Yeah," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Avni's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she continued to study the photo. "Now I know where you got your beautiful eyes from," she said, her voice filled with wonder. Aayush's heart skipped a beat, he had heard compliments like this before, but coming from Avni, it felt different. It felt like she was seeing him, really seeing him. He felt a sense of vulnerability, but also a sense of connection with Avni. Avni, however, seemed to realize that she had revealed too much. She quickly covered, "I mean, whenever you don't wear glasses, I've noticed that." Aayush chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He was touched by Avni's words, and he felt grateful for her presence in his life. Aayush's eyes crinkled at the corners as he chuckled, his gaze never leaving Avni's face. But he didn't say a word, just let the moment hang in the air, his eyes drinking in the sight of Avni's radiant smile. The seconds ticked by, and Aayush felt like he was suspended in time, his heart beating in slow motion. He was captivated by Avni's explanation, his mind absorbing every word like a sponge. And yet, even as he listened intently, he couldn't help but steal glances at Avni, admiring the way her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, the way her hair fell in soft waves down her back. As they finally finished their study session, Aayush felt a pang of disappointment. He didn't want the moment to end, didn't want to let Avni out of his sight. But he pushed aside his feelings and smiled, his voice filled with genuine appreciation. "You explained so well," he said, his eyes shining with admiration. Avni's cheeks flushed with pleasure as she chuckled, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you," she said, her eyes sparkling with delight. As they made their way to the living room, Aayush's father looked up from his dinner, a friendly smile on his face. "Have some dinner," he invited Avni, his voice warm and welcoming. But Avni was hesitant, not wanting to intrude on their family time. "No, no, you continue, I'll leave now," she said, starting to walk quickly towards the door. Aayush, however, was not having it. "Avni, you can also have dinner with us, why are you walking so fast?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern, as they stepped out of the house. Avni's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she slowed down. "No, it's really okay, I'll have it when I get home," she said, trying to brush off the offer. But Aayush was not convinced. "You didn't even have snacks also," he pointed out, his eyes sparkling with amusement. Avni's face grew hotter as she tried to avoid the topic. "I should leave now," she said, trying to make a quick exit. But Aayush was insistent. "Let me drop you," he said, his voice firm but gentle. Avni's heart skipped a beat as she hesitated. She was happy that Aayush was offering to drop her, but she didn't want to leave him to miss his dinner because of her. "No, no, you have your food, I'll go myself, it's not that far," she said, trying to reassure him. But Aayush was not to be deterred. "No, still, I will drop you," he said, his voice firm, as he started walking towards the gate. As they strolled side by side, Avni turned to Aayush with a warm smile. "You're intelligent in studies," she said, her voice filled with genuine admiration. Aayush's eyes crinkled at the corners as he chuckled, his face lighting up with pleasure. "You too," he said, his voice tinged with appreciation. "But that's why my father wants me to top in college this time," he added, his expression turning serious. Avni's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she asked, "And what if you're second or third?" Her voice was laced with genuine concern, as if she was trying to understand Aayush's perspective. Aayush's face set in determination. "I don't know what he'll do, but I'll try my best to get first rank," he said, his voice firm and resolute. Avni's smile grew wider as she said, "And I'll help you more to get that," her voice filled with encouragement and support. As they continued walking, lost in conversation, they suddenly found themselves standing in front of Avni's apartment Building . Aayush felt a pang of disappointment, not wanting the evening to end. Avni, however, was practical as always. "See, tomorrow you give me some of the books that I can refer for teaching you, and yeah, you won't wait for me at the bus stop to return the container, I'll directly come to your house," she said, her voice firm and decisive. Aayush's face fell, but he knew better than to argue with Avni. "But Avni, I'll pick you up," he said, his voice tinged with protest. Avni's expression turned stern, her eyes sparkling with amusement "No, no need of it, Aayush, you just need to focus on studies now," she said, her voice soft and reassuring. Aayush's face broke into a smile. "Okay, you're getting too strict teacher, now," he said, his voice teasing. Avni's laughter was music to Aayush's ears. "Yes, we have to score good marks," she said, her eyes sparkling with mirth. Aayush's expression turned serious as he said "Thank you, Avni," he said, his voice filled with genuine gratitude. Avni's smile grew wider. "When you get the first rank, then thank me," she said, her voice filled with confidence and faith in Aayush. For a moment, they just stood there, looking into each other's eyes, the world around them melting away. It was as if time had stood still, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a moment of perfect understanding. Finally, Avni broke the spell. "Go, now," she said, her voice soft and gentle. Aayush turned around, his heart feeling a little heavier, a little more connected to Avni. "Good night," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Avni's response was equally soft. "Good night, Aayush," she said, her voice a gentle breeze on a summer night. As they went their separate ways, Aayush couldn't shake off the feeling that a part of him was still with Avni, connected to her in a way that he couldn't quite explain.
